ONE WEEK AGO.
Lead Expeditionary Scientist:- Howard Gnavis
VASTRA AUDIO LOG 309:- Audio Log, Howard Gnavis, Vastra Research outpost 12. We’ve Finally managed to Boar Through to the Sub levels of the ruins. After many months of continuous Drilling, and over 5 burnt out drilling rig’s. We’ve punched through the ceiling of the Maze like tunnels beneath the Structure’s.
We’re moving Equipment down below to establish a base camp as I speak. The Immense hardness of this material is impressive, even by our standards of building materials. Still no word on the Translations of the inscriptions we’ve found on the structures themselves yet. A.S.I.F.F. is still working on a key that we can use.
Now for the Crystal…
There continues to be little to no Development in its progress. We have it under heavy Shielding beneath the dome. Suspended with A-Grav systems to keep it isolated.
Temporal Echo Scans of the stone, Tell us that This object, was not Formed over time, so much as it Simply Appeared, one moment nothing, the next, a fully formed, self aware entity. The lack of any weathering or signs of Crystalline Growth patterns of any kind on its surface, as well as its multiple and varied reaction’s when we get near it, supports this.
Furthermore, its composition tells us this Planetoid, Vastra, is not its place of origin. It came from somewhere else, how it arrived here remains to be seen.
We’ve managed to keep it’s energy suppressed, but I think that it’s still more then able to get through the shields we have around it. I don’t even think that we ever had it Suppressed to begin with; I’m beginning to understand that now…
We should never have come here. We should never have brought that thing up from the ice and stone.

THREE DAYS AGO.
Lead Expeditionary Scientist:- Howard Gnavis
VASTRA AUDIO LOG 328:- The Crystal has shown A huge amount of activity today, the shields are still holding, but barely.
“Something” has it excited. “Really” Exited.
Don’t know what yet, but it seems to me that this thing’s getting ready for something. Not sure I want to find out what.
