Aboard the Great Eye Eos Space
“Heathens….” Gravus growled, the High Exemplar stood there overseeing the repairs to the Great Eye, and the millions of civilians being evacuated of its hallowed structure. He stood resplendent in his gold and white armour, beside him stood Exemplar Knight Castris and Grand Exemplar Lastrus. The three stared out of the massive window. Behind them on one of the 4 arms of the Great Eye stood the remains of a hallowed and bustling city, hit repeatedly by the impacts of Nuclean weaponry. Tens of thousands had died in the sudden attack. And the Consortium while winning an absolutely crushing victory against their foe now regrouped and repaired, waiting for an inevitable counter attack. The once shining pavilions and promenades of their home now lay in semi ruins, and while the repairs could be made to the weaponry and super structure the beautiful art, mosaics, statues and vistas could not be replaced. Some even being around since the days of Eos.
“They will pay for what they have done” Came the soothing yet fiery voice of Castris, she while smaller than the other two and of lower rank was the one watching over the construction of the great spectacle before them. Dwarfing the Great Eye a thousand fold stood a great circular structure in the shape of the Eye of Eos, millions of workers and ships went to and fro the monumental structure, building it daily as they had done so ever since they arrived in this galaxy.
“Indeed they will Exemplar Knight. However priority goes to the completion of the Bridge of Worlds. Defend Consortium space Gravus at all costs. Judging by their attack on our home system they must have knowledge of our systems and our placements. This will mean they will ignore our strongpoints and attack key infrastructure, like agricultural worlds and shipyards. I want you to place the fleet on top readiness, patrols everywhere. Castris, I want you to defend this place, ensure the interdiction fields are at maximum strength and all defences are operational. Refit and repair the Great Eye as fast as you can. Lord Exemplar Tyrandis has decreed it be used as a war vessel for Eos wrath in this time of need, the Great Hand will also be attached to you Gravus should you need it” Came the booming voice of the towering Grand Exemplar Lastrus, in direct communication with the Lord Exemplar of the Consortium Lastrus was here to oversee the plan went according to plan. No matter the cost.
“What of their battle station?” Castris replied.
“If it appears again you attack and destroy it with overwhelming force. Use the Great Eye and the fleet to overwhelm it, trap it and corner the beast. It should be no problem for our masters will” Lastrus said turning his suits massive helm to look as Castris, who immediately bowed her head.
“I will have the fleets on standby, I fully suspect these… ‘Nucleans’ as they call themselves to be either attacking in revenge of our threat for them to leave our space or out of utter desperation for resources. Why else would they throw themselves at us like that? Only to die by the million?” Gravus thought outloud, pulling a small flask from his suit of a blue liquid, drinking it his skin seemed to go paler and renew itself.
“They are not touched by his grace. I doubt they have a concept of tactics or losses and if they do it seems to be severely flawed” Castris said grinning.
“Either way” Lastrus interrupted “I want everything at the ready. Is the ceremony time unchanged?” He said turning again to Castris.
“No my lord the ceremony will begin on time”
“Good. Lord Exemplar Tyrandis would not like any delays. However protecting our flock is a priority also. Stop any of our people from dying if you can, and take as many of the enemy with you as possible” Lastrus boomed, turning away his massive form made loud footsteps as he walked off. The other two bowing and making the Eye of Eos on their foreheads as he did so.
“The repairs should be done in the next few days. I will notify you of any changes High Exemplar” Castris said bowing as she walked off. Gravus nodded to her as she did so, leaving the man staring out of the massive Great Eye towards the even more gigantic Bridge of Worlds.
