EDGE OF EOS SPACE....
The Nuclean Armada reverted back to realspace at the agreed upon location. Fleetmaster Stellios still stood looking out the viewport as he had before. Before his eyes, a readouts displayed on both sides of his vision concerning the overall status of Stellar Fist. He noted that as he had ordered, all ships had shields at full and were ready for action. He also noted the various gravimetric, radiation, and disturbance readings the ship was picking up.
Grand Exemplar Leonid watched as the gravimetric distortions appeared on sensors, there were too many to be a natural occurrence, quite clearly they were a fleet coming out of some sort of FTL, he turned to the white robed adept below him on the bridge rung "Helm, take us out to the location, not too close but close enough" He looked the other side to another adept "Coms i want you to alert the high command and tell the system to possibly prepare for conflict" He ordered. Moments later the huge form of the Eos battleship and 2 heavy escorts made their way out of the system and into open space, he wasn't sure what he would find but hopefully more believers in the grand scheme of Eos himself.
Stellios watched with interest as a large ship escorted by two smaller ones appeared in front of them. Immediately the ship began feeding data into his vision. The largest of the ships was a little smaller than the Stellar Fist, and he noted the large guns it was carrying. He turned to one of the bridge crew, "Attempt to open a channel with the largest vessel." he ordered. The Stellar Fist emitted a quantum entanglement message as well as over radio frequencies for good measure.
Leonid saw the notification and opened the coms channel to respond "This is Grand Exemplar Leonid of the Eos Consortium, I am pleased to greet you to the territory of the Eos Consortium, may his hand guide us all" Leonid said politely and raising his hand to make a sign on his chest as he waited for a reply.
The alien's actions seemed friendly enough, so Stellios responded in a civil tone. "Greetings. I am Fleetmaster Stellios of the Nuclean Ecumene, and on behalf of our Fuur, Nuke, I great you in peace."
Leonid smiled "Excellent, it is good to meet another who seeks peace, perhaps we could meet in person and discuss more about our peoples? To better understand each other?" Leonid asked intrigued, he hoped these people were open to the concept of Eos for if not they would pay dearly indeed however he was open to the concept of peace between them if clarity through Eos could be attained.
"Yes, we could. I cordially invite you aboard to come aboard my ship then. We can meet and discuss relations between our two civilizations." A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth as he looked at the videofeed with sincerity.
Leonid nodded slightly as if attempting a bow "As you wish" Leonid cut the link and made his way down to the hangar bay, he was clad in his white and gold armor and carried his energy staff, when he arrived at the hangar he saw an honor guard of 20 Eos soldiers standing ready to accompany him, he smiled and boarded the elaborate and elegant shuttle, the troops followed him and they took their seats, the shuttle made its way gracefully out of the hangar, the blocky Eos ships looking nothing like the sleek manta like shuttle, the journey was quick and the shuttle came to a land slowly in the Nuclean hangar bay.
The channel closed, and Stellios arrived in the hanger bay in time to see the shuttle pulling in. Two platoons of marines, their armor polished and shining like chromium, stood at attention holding their rifles facing each other, forming a 3 meter wide walkway which Stellios stood at the end of.
Leonid marched down in his white and gold armor staff in hand as the ramp came down as well as the guards who marched out and formed two ranks of 10, they were outnumbered but would fight to the death if need be. The Grand Exemplar walked forward to the commander and nodded to Stellios "Greetings i am Grand Exemplar Leonid"
"Hello Grand Exemplar, and welcome aboard the Stellar Fist." Stellios replied. He noted the honor guard around the Grand Exemplar, taking in their weapons and how he would have to deal with them if problems arose. Hopefully things would go smoothly and he wouldn't have an incident with an empire he had only just encountered. "Please follow me to the conference room" he said, turning to lead the visitors.
Leonid nodded and walked with the Captain leaving his guards in the hangar bay, he was capable of defending himself and he was ready if things went down badly. He made his way following the captain and taking note of the interior and the ship design for later reference and trying to gauge what technology these people may have. At last however they reached the conference chamber.
The conference chamber was shaped like a large cube with rounded edges. Each wall displayed a video feed of the outside of the vessel, making one feel as though they were floating in space. The outlines of two chairs appeared, and quickly solidified. Stellios beckoned to one of them "Please take a seat" he said, as he waited for his guest to take a seat before he took his. The chairs were 3.5 meters apart, and looked like highly polished platinum.
Leonid looked around then sat down in the designated seat, he still had his helmet on and as he sat he disengaged the locks and took it off resting it on his lap and putting his staff on the floor in an easy to reach place, revealing his long golden hair and golden yellow iris as well as a young clean cut face with the symbol of the Eos Consortium tattooed onto his forehead like all Grand Exemplars do. He watched as Stellios sat down "So Stellios, what would you like to know?" he said in a passive tone.
"Stellios replied in a civil manner, "Well I was interested in perhaps our civilizations getting along together, I'm sure we can work out something." He clasped his hands together, his eyes resting on Leonid.
Leonid nodded "I am sure we can find something, however i must ask. Do you believe in a god?" Leonid said his eyes going said serious.
"Excellent" Stellios said. "As for believing in a god, I have seen multiple 'gods' I suppose, and fought against them and their armies. So yes you could say more than believe." He leaned forward, interested in where this conversation was going.
Leonid raised an eyebrow "My people worship a god called Eos, he is what shaped my race into what it is now and guided my people to greatness, to us he is everything and our people strictly follow his beliefs, can you see yourself adopting Eos as your god? We can teach you our ways, and inform you of his greatness, miracles and grand works. Conversion is the best option for all races and species" Leonid said smiling in an open armed gesture.
"I see. And what do you believe Eos wants you to do?" Stellios replied neutrally. He was pleased that what he had said seemed to surprise the alien, but he was admittedly somewhat dismayed that he seemed to have encountered a very religious civilization. Such civilizations tended to be aggressive towards those who did not share their beliefs.
"Eos would want us to teach his divine light and ways to all those who can receive it, and for those who reject it... then they will convert or sadly become our enemies" Leonid said slightly more alert and sharp than before.
"Ah I see. That seems awfully abrupt to declare people your enemies like that. I will say that we cannot just convert to a religion instantly. I would hope we could still remain on good terms however." Sylfia said in his head, "In case of aggression we are prepared to engage. I don't like the sound of this.."
Leonid nodded "It is the will of Eos, and if you will not convert we will be enemies, consider this a gift, we do not take in non human races and for this offer to extend to you is a great thing indeed" He narrowed his eyes at the 'prepared to engage' line, he send a beacon to the Eos ship via his mental link telling them to ready defenses and weapons just in case "However if we do become enemies we will give you the chance to leave and no action will be taken, allowing you to find another place to settle"
"Well I am sad to hear that. I wish we could've been friends, but if you insist." Stellios stood. "I will extend the favor to you that you have given me, and allow you to leave my ship." His expression solidified, as his helmet materialized around his head. In the hanger, the two platoons of marines were joined by two more platoons, and they formed into a barrier, weapons pointed towards the honor guard. The major in charge said over his external speakers "By authority of Fleetmaster Stellios, you are ordered back to you shuttle. You have twenty seconds to get there."
Leonid shook his head "You have made a grave error, he was out of the room in a flash, and down the corridor fast than any normal human, in a few moments he was in the hangar and saw his guards aiming their staff weapons at the Nucleans he rushed over and ordered them into the shuttle, he entered last and looked back in disgust putting his helmet on as the ramp closed and the shuttle left the hangar, the Nucleans received one message "Leave our space and no conflict shall be intiated, we will give you 10 minutes to charge your FTL drives and leave"
On the bridge on the Stellar Fist, Shipmaster Axxee had been monitoring the conversation. Then he was messaged by the Fleetmaster, "Looks like we have hostiles, the make sure everyone knows." Axxee looked over at Sylfia's hologram and nodded. Accross the armada, ships fired up all of their reactors and made sure their shields were still at full, as their weapons glowed. Stellios arrived on the bridge of the ship, and messaged the Eos ships, "Run while you can, you are outnumbered and outsized." Hopefully the Eos would notice that their battleship was rather small compared to the Nuclean carriers and cruisers, not to mention that there were three Eos ships and 240 Nuclean vessels.
Leonid replied shortly after "You are unaware that that a reinforcement fleet is on its way shortly from the Great Eye, in a few minutes you will be outgunned and out numbered, we again offer you the chance to leave. Take it while you can"
"I figured there was." Stellios smiled, "Good day." With that, the armada disappeared, appearing a moment later thousands of light year away from their last position. Stellios frowned slightly as he took up his favorite spot in front of the viewport. "Perhaps we can find a planet to settle on, Sylfia can you find any?" he asked. "Yes sir, should I take us there?" the AI inquired, "Yes, please do." he replied. The armada jumped again, this time appearing in an uninhabited system.
Sylfia's hologram approached Stellios, "Sir, I have detected this planet is habitable, and we can start colonization immediately, if you wish of course.." Stellios looked down at the planet, noting its forests and mountains and other features. "Yes, begin colonization immediatelly." The armada began to deploy Meteor landing craft, which landed in a large fielded area. They immediately began discharging colonists and equipment. Some of the smaller vessels entered the atmosphere and activated their matterconverters, using them to construct buildings.
