Killian System, Eos Consortium Space: 6:25Pm local time
A Trinovan Revelation-class Scout frigate completes an FTL jump and goes into stealth the moment it reforms. The phasic cloaking system pushes the ship out of phase with the rest of the universe, making it nearly undetectable and able to observe almost anything without fear of being spotted or fired upon.
"Take a reading. We came all the way out here for a reason..." The captain of the Revelation-class scout says. The small crew begins running numerous scans of the area with the ship's advanced quantum sensors array, finding a planet with a previously unknown population. Further investigation shows a few ships in orbit, each energy signatures unique from any known. "Hold here and observe," The captain says, "They can't see us..."
Meriston stood overlooking the bridge of the battleship she commanded, the interior was blindingly white washed, with gold and dark grey lines across the walls, the men and women at their posts wore white robes with golden trims with the blazing eye of Eos showing on their chests. She was proud, as soon as her small fleet had finished getting repairs she would rejoin the main fleet in the ruins of the deliverance system. she was about to leave the bridge to go get some more of Eos sustenance before the jump however the sensor station picked something up.
"My grand exemplar, we are picking up a small ship near to the planet that seems to be observing us... they are scanning the planet and our ships" The man said respectfully. She raised an eyebrow and looked at communications. the man there nodded and opened up a channel.
"This is Grand Exemplar Meriston of the Eos Consortium, by his grand will we greet, you. However we would appreciate it if you did not hide and learn from us at a distance. By his will please respond" she said in a calm tone
The captain of the Trinovan Revelation-class Scout almost jumps when he hears the hailing signal on his control board. "On screen..." He says, the communications officer pulling up the transmission and receiving the message.
The captain is completely floored that any race would have sensors capable of piercing a Trinovan phasic cloaking system. "Um... This is Revelation 131, scout ship of the Kingdom of Trinova..." The young man says with a hearty dose of unease in his voice.
Meriston raised an eyebrow "May I ask what you are doing here?" She pauses for a second "The kingdom of Trinova... we have not heard of such a nation before. In his name this is a great day and one full of promise" She said again in a serene voice.
By this time the young captain has gotten used to the fact that his stealth is ineffective against the sensor systems of this new empire, and he speaks with more confidence. "We were sent to investigate the presence of a previously unknown race in this galaxy, one who seems to share religious beliefs similar to our own..." The captain says.
Meriston cocked her head slightly "You have heard of our grand lord Eos? Are you another nation which has found his guiding light? if so this is a truly momentous day. It has been eons since Eos walked the universe as we know it, perhaps he had merely visited others. Tell me has he blessed you with his divine power?" She asked, he face had lit up slightly with happy anticipation, another touched by Eos was truly going to be a miracle and a day of days for both to be remembered.
The captain gives a sigh to calm himself, drawing up any and all wisdom of his faith that he can muster. "We serve the will of the Light, our guiding force of wisdom and righteousness. The Light was given to us by our divine lord, who is known by many names..." The young captain recites, hoping not to step on the toes of a potential ally, but also not to insult the faith of a race that his scanners have just shown capable of destroying his light frigate in moments.
Meriston quietly noted his reluctance to say Eos name... however he too served the light, perhaps this could be salvaged after all. Meriston bowed.
"Perhaps you should come aboard and we can learn more of each other, we are a very inviting people, we would be honoured for you to join us for a mean" She asked sincerely.
The young captain nods and closes the channel, the others aboard the Revelation-class scout look up at him with almost innocent expressions. The captain looks around in a slight daze of contemplation before coming back to the memory of his post.
"Hold here, once I leave the ship, keep the phase cloaking system engaged... just in case. They might be able to see us through it, but I doubt they have a weapon that can hit us while out of phase..." The captain says as he walks to the side of the ship, the place of one of the two small shuttle craft on board the small Trinovan ship. He flies the shuttle out and toward the large Eos vessel, the two security guards behind him seeming a bit nervous. The young Trinovan captain taps the button on his wrist, making sure his transmitter beacon is working properly as he flies toward the Eos ship.
The hangar doors of the massive white and gold vessel opened to reveal a blinding light from within, as the shuttle made its way inside the pilot could read multiple energy signatures locked onto the shuttle, then again Trinova would do the same. a precautionary measure in case of sudden attack. inside the hangar bay it was stark white, with dark grey lines making square shapes on the walls and floor. gold trim decorated everywhere and before the shuttle stood at least a hundred people. One was Meriston, standing in her ceremonial robes, the rest were made up of orderlies in less flashy robes and also a huge honour guard. The guards wore white armour in a very ceremonial looking way and carrier what appeared to be some sort of staff weapon. Meriston waited until the ramp dropped.
The young Trinovan captain walks down the ramp with dignity, arms at his sides, and flanked by his two Trinovan security guards. Each security guard wears light plate armour on their chest and lower limbs, carrying a pair of small guns on their thighs and some sort of high-tech devices on their wrists. The security guards keep their hands away from their weapons as a gesture of goodwill.
Meriston and her aids bowed, the Eos honour guard also bowed just their heads and kept their staff weapons by their sides held up.
"Greetings, we hope you enjoy your stay on our ship, we take great lengths to make it as comfortable as possible for you" She looked at the Trinovan Guards "Where we are going no guards will be needed, we respectfully ask they remain here with our guards as they will not be coming either" Meriston said calmly
The Trinovan captain turns to his guards and speaks a single, long sentence in a language none of the Eos personnel understand. The guards nod once and stand on each side of the ship's ramp. The captain turns to Meriston. "Lead the way," he says with a respectful smile.
Meriston nods and beckons the Trinovan captain to follow her, they leave the hangar and he followed her down many corridors. all the ships crew wore the same white robe with the golden eye on the chest and all the walls were the same while grey and gold. Eventually they came to a massive chamber, it was empty save for a huge open ceiling looking out into space, as the entered Meriston waved her hand over the floor and a table and chairs seemingly materialised from thin air. She beckoned him to sit "Come may i get you any refreshments?" She asked.
The Trinovan captain looks around, standing behind one of the chairs. "Do you have water?" He asks, being courteous to his host's offer.
"Of course" She said and gestured with her hand over the table, a glass of water like the table and chairs re materialised before him. Meriston likewise did the same this time with a glass full of a dull glowing blue liquid. She leaned back and cherished the liquid.
"Please tell me about yourself and your people, I am dying to know more" She said happily.
The young Trinovan captain takes his seat and drinks from his glass. "Our people... have a very extensive history, entwined with numerous powerful forces and spread across numerous planes of reality... I regret that I'm not exactly sure where to begin..." The captain says, looking at the liquid in his glass.
Meriston cocked her head "That is a good start, but you can start from the beginning, how were your people created? Our people were nothing but dirt dwellers when Eos arrived. His purifying and divine guidance changed us into a giant technologically advanced race in mere decades. we too now search him out through planes of existence and to bring Eos divine light to those who do not have it yet shine upon them" She said calmly "That is why we are here" She ended looking at the captain.
The Trinovan captain takes a sip of his drink and pours through his memories. "As far back as any of my people know, we originated in a pocket dimension known as the Base World, under the guiding hand of a being we knew at the time as the Builder. The Builder claimed that he wasn't a god, but told us that there was one God to whom we should bow... and because there was only one, we had no need to call him by other name but simply, God," The young captain recites.
Meriston listened closely. Evaluating what the captain said, she swirled the blue liquid then drank some more "God you say? Surely he would be great enough to be known by name? Eos is known by many names but they are names all. It is known to us that Eos himself originated from another dimension to ours. He defected from a race of evil beings, to find and nurture those worth his divine blessing. We were created to bring all into the fold and eventually defeat the dark ones... damned be there true name" She said and spat to the side.
The young Trinovan captain smiles slightly. "After the Builder defeated the dark powers that threatened the Base World, he lead our people out of the Base World pocket dimension, into the world that our kingdom currently occupies. When our people migrated as such, the Builder revealed his true name, William, and took position as king, while our God also revealed his true name to us, as we could understand in our own language... He called himself Sa'shanai." The young captain says, sipping his water.
Meriston frowned "I have never heard that name before. It dosent sound like a name Eos would use, it is very rare for him to even use another name... Perhaps your god is not Eos after all..." She downed the rest of the glass of liquid, the captain could have sworn she looked more youthful and vibrant than before...
She looked back at him. And scanned him again "Our mandate is to unify all of creation under Eos's banner, those who do not join are against us. May i ask where you stand on this?" She asked suddenly very serious.
The captain feels an overwhelming sense of fear, but collects himself and speaks. "Our nation currently faces an enemy who wields the powers of darkness and shadow. Our gods may not be the same being, but... both of our peoples serve the light, and we both fight against the forces of darkness. Perhaps an alliance may be out of the question, but... at least we might have a mutual respect of each other?" He says, hoping to at least get enough favour to spare his own life and those of his crew.
The Trinovan captain breaths a heavy sigh before following the Eos guards back to his ship. The captain nods to the Trinovan guards and all three Trinovans board the shuttle. The pilot lifts off and leaves the Eos ship, flying back to the Trinovan Revelation-class scout.
"Charge up the drive engines, but hold position until I give the word." The captain says. The crew of the Revelation turns the ship toward Trinovan space and charges the phase drive, but holds their position as ordered. The captain opens a channel back to the Eos vessel, hailing the young woman with whom he spoke earlier.
Meriston was alerted to the incoming communication hail she booted up "This is Meriston"
The captain's voice is firm as he speaks. "I thank you for your mercy in letting us leave unharmed, but know this; the Kingdom of Trinova is not a force to be trifled with lightly. Sa'shanai has blessed us with victory before, and our forces are ready to defend our people. We had hoped our common interests would spark a friendship, but if it is war you seek, then we stand against you," he says.
The captain closes the transmission and turns to his pilot. "All ahead full phase, take us back to Trinova as fast as possible," he says. The Revelation-class scout fires its phase drive and jumps back to Trinovan space.
Meriston closed the link and shook her head. Eos had blessed them with victory before as well, other so called 'gods' had fallen to them. The Consortium wasn’t in a position to start outright fighting just yet, they needed to expand. At most Eos could muster a small battle fleet... it might be best to test their forces just to see what they were like. She would see, for now the High Exemplar would need to know of this happening.
