Marine en Masse
SR MS/Tech Journal
The impact that the Battle of Davos had on the Selenicans cannot be understated. The majority of their fleet was lost, thousands of men killed, and the admiral responsible executed. What was needed was not more, nor was it the refinement of speed. It was a massive technological jump, a plan to modernize the Selenican fleet to an appropriate level of competence.
“Sir?” Selia’s secretary would ask, knocking lightly on the old oaken door, deep into the long Anxiosian winter. Despite the capitol building being placed within a massive savannah, snow occasionally fell, the white crystals of fractals, every tiny droplet of frozen water its own structure.
“Yes?” Selia would reply, gazing out of his window to the fluffy white coating on the ground below. The heat emanating from street lamps produced obvious gaps in the snow, making the road look like a neatly organized pock-marked sheet of paper.
“We’ve gotten word, the admiral who was at Davos is dead. Killed by an inmate, it says.”
“Seems like the bribe worked.” Selia would say, completely unfazed by the death of another of his own. “Arna.” He would say, somewhat inquisitively. “I’d like your thoughts. What do you believe godhood to be?”
The incredibly small serpent he was addressing shook her head after thinking for a moment, unable to come with an answer.
“Godhood is your achievements and works remembered by the history books forever as the savior of your nation. It isn’t omniscience, it isn’t omnipotence. It is impact – and legacy. You must be remembered, forevermore, to be a god.” he would muse, continuing to stare out of his window in the presidential palace.
“I don’t understand, sir.” she would reply, “Hasn’t your legacy been secured forever as the liberator of us?”
“You misunderstand, my dear secretary.” Selia would reply, amused by his subordinate. “While I may be remembered by the people of the Selenican Republic forever, there is more to our existence than just this one rock, this one system, this one cluster of systems.”
“But you’ve already been seen across the galaxy, especially with the announcement of joining CONA. People know who you are.”
“What they know is nothing but a public facade. They must know, and know they will, that I am the one who dragged us out of a fate of irrelevance and an inevitable capitulation to those who would see us nothing more than slaves.”
“Sir…What are you getting at?” she would ask, followed by silence for a time.
“What I’m trying to show you, Arna, is that we mustn't rest on our laurels. While we’ve expelled the UDS, there will always be more aggressors and colonizers. We’ve already begun production of the vessels we owe to ICEC, and we’ve finally phased out those wretched red ships from before my presidency. It is only time we need, and time we haven’t much of.” he would reply, still calm and collected from earlier, remaining in a general monotone.
“You’ve done enough listening for tonight, care to go for a drink?” he would follow up, adopting a much more cheerful tone.

Anxios
With the loss at Davos, came rapid and extremely rough expansion of ship building capacity to replace losses and then some. If the Selenicans were to compete with SAGA-aligned nations economically, even with the force-multiplier ICEC provided, they would need more capacity at home. Rapid and often unsafe expansions to the Anxios orbital ring’s dock capacity were worked upon, day and night, if such things even existed out in the cold vacuum of space.
In response to the losses of Davos, the Selenicans would erect a monument to their fallen – the “Victory and Loss Soldier’s Memorial.” Enshrined within were the names and ages of all those lost at the Battle of Davos, entombed within a cathedral of concrete and flowers, spread out like an amphitheater around a central spire, on its tip a never-ending flame. It would become a piece of great importance for the state media, subject of hundreds of propaganda films.
Colonial Systems
In other systems, the to-date slow buildup of Selenican colonization into the usually desolate worlds with assistance of their allies had broken. Rapid population growth following the opening of the Selenicans to the galaxy had befallen the relatively young nation, predictions that the population would more than double a decade from present posed severe alarms for the government. They were well aware that their capacity for the programs provided to citizens was already beginning to fail, and they did not have the capacity for more. The solution for housing and jobs would be outsourced to the CES and Meta-Sax – for short-term, and long-term housing respectively.
Sjkevelal
As a primary industrial hub for the extraction of Brightstone for the Selenicans, shipyards were built up alongside the extraction with the permission of the Trust. As a fellow member of ICEC, the chances of in-fighting between the two would be extremely small, as was the likely outcome.
Yuza
Always a hotbed of revolutionary activity on count of its horrendous living conditions compared to Anxios, long the victim of government neglect, Yuzari residents welcomed the gaze of their state as factories for domestic equipment, heavily based on imported galactic arms, would likely bring additional infrastructure and favor beyond the bare essentials. Partially, they were proved right, with the collapsing infrastructure being drastically overhauled into the modern age, but additionally, police from the home planet were brought too, beginning the systematic and slow crackdown of revolution in the system.
Klerikza
With the time deemed right, the industry of Klerikza would begin its fire, primarily serving as a hub for the exportation of extremely dangerous chemical industrial processes from a home nation to a comparatively lax and cheap alternative. Shipbuilding facilities, primarily aimed at nearby CONA powers, had officially been opened as well. The first E-3 Class due for the Mithran was constructed here. Tests and outfittings of antimatter drives began their life here as a method for more efficient power generation to fuel the ever-hungry tachyonic arrows of Selenican warships, which had an unintended side effect of massively boosting thrust capacity. Following these early experiments, intentional outfittings of rudimentary antimatter reactors and engines to warships began, including the Ophanim-Class Battlecruisers and Bardiel-Class Meridian Cutters.
Faria
With the blatant theft of Coronan darkstone from the early stages of the collapse of that zit on the galaxy, and the discovery of its extreme protective capabilities, along with a loan from the ASN having its funds split between industrial modernization, AI development beyond the first fluke of Marigold, and now Meridian diving and Halostone purchasing, thus began the colonization of Faria. Triarch Inc. was contracted out as well to assist, having great experience in the Meridian, and thus the beginnings of darkstone mining and halostone coating of ships arrived.

ICEC
Being a founding member of ICEC, despite the Selenican’s unfortunate circumstances earlier in their history, they still had a duty to fulfill. And that duty was coordinating the defense of the Mithran. With much deliberation, the final solution of defense was determined to be small numbers of “control cruisers,” specially refitted Daybringer-Class to handle large numbers of E-3 Class Arsenal ships to utterly swarm any incoming enemy. The E-3s were primarily composed of very simple technologies and weapons, modular and quick to produce as well, spawned out of a partnership with the CES, endlessly frustrating their Musavian counterparts with the lack of knowledge of the paradigm. The decision for such a wide departure from Selenican design philosophy of purpose-designed vessels with minor modular characteristics was to allow the others involved with the defense of the Mithran to easily and efficiently build ships should it be deemed needed. Selia held a speech to mark the first launch batch of E-3s, ten strong.

“My brothers and sisters, colleagues in ICEC at home and across Ancerious – it is with great pleasure I welcome you to the docks of Klerikza for an achievement among achievements. Despite the interruption of our Mithran Defense program brought upon by the UDS, we have made great strides in our utility of artificial intelligence and manufacturing, and with our colleagues in the CES whom we have worked tirelessly with, the spine of ICEC’s defense has been produced – our E-3 Class. It shall be used en masse, a naval force built for exclusively for our defense, and it is with pleasure I tell you that we have already begun production of this ship and many alike it in great numbers.”

General Technology
Ground Vehicles
With the development of meridian dives and antimatter and more efficient tachyonic systems of all sorts, the ever-aging coilguns on ground vehicles have been eyed with more and more suspicion from upper command, posing a greatly increased logistical load if ever the Selenicans were to go to war again. A program of military standardization and modernization had begun, relegating these tanks and other AFVs to the dustbin as reserve vehicles in case supply runs out, with improved industrial techniques developed with the ASN loan beginning to replace them.
SpARC Drives
Following a freak incident with the Red Bulwark involving preliminary tests of the SpARC drive, heavy SpARC aperture usages have spread across industrial sections of the SR, vastly improving the logistical strain of transferring from the Bulwark and Selenicans and back.
