GEK Capital - Kel’thul
High Council Chambers
The clamor of the various council members’ discussion rings through the vast chamber, the emperor sitting in his seat affront the wide arch of council members. The meeting had been called due to the events currently happening within the galaxy, and the events of Telun. Council members cried out in attempts to be heard by the various parties before the vote began, at the forefront the two parties focused around these issues, having grown rapidly in support in light of the current galactic affairs.
“This is an Outrage! We should pull from TIERZ and openly support Orillia! They were right about the colonials!” one councilman from the Kel’thulian Ancerious-Native Support Party (KANS) yells out. In response, a member of the Kel’thulian Free-Ancerious Party (KFAP) barks out her own opinion. “This conflict was caused by misunderstanding, not ill will! We should try and make amends and denounce Orillia for its blatant racism and xenophobia to those who just wish to have a home of their own!”
The arguments rage for a few moments more before the voice of the Emperor cuts through on a microphone. “Calm now people, this is a civil discussion, not a battleground.” After this the chamber goes quiet aside from silent whispers between council members of similar parties.
"The vote shall go out in a few moments. We must stay civil and not fight ourselves lest this coming war destroys our people." Some chatter and nod in agreement, while others mumble things to each other. The vote begins and is sent to the devices each council member has in front of them, and numerous individuals tap away at their keyboards.
5 minutes pass and all the results are going through, data processed and numbers counted by digital machines and databases. Then they arrive. There is a sudden wave of chattering, angered and relieved voices across the way.
The Kel’thulians Will support Orillia and join CONA. The vote is 75% in favour, resulting in an almost resounding success for the KANS party.
And so it is set in motion.
The Kel’thulian government officially sends out its declaration of joining CONA and denouncing the colonials of the galaxy, joining the vast rosters of native nations within the newfound alliance. This goes well with some, while others think it to be an absolute outrage…
Councilman Ri’Ka’Mo’s Chamber
Ri’ held his head in his hands, defeated. Being one of the largest members of the KFAP, the council being so in favor of his opposition had been demoralizing. The Empire has begun mobilizing, projects being started and forces being stocked as they move for the coming war. But were they truly on the right side of the war? Time would only tell, he thought to himself. His party already lost the vote, so there is no reason to remain grovelling. If the people want this war, then they shall have it, he tells himself, but the consequences may be very grave…
Emperor Ta’Ko’Wi’s Chamber
Merely a few hours after the vote had passed, Ko’Wi sits in his chamber within the large council building, reading a book on his personal holopad, in an attempt to take his mind off everything, if only just for a couple hours. He had personally hoped for the vote to go in favour of KFAP, but it seems the council did not agree with his hidden sentiment. In spite of this unprecedented decision by the council, Ko’Wi will hold fast and do his duty, as leader of his people. He takes a drink of fine wine and sighs, thinking of the future…
