Ding!
The doors of the elevator finally opened to reveal a well decorated office belonging to one of the secretaries to the mighty Director of Foreign Affairs. The floor was made of black marble while the walls, where it could be seen despite many bookshelves blocking them, was made out of white marble with an old timey chandelier hanging from the roof, above a single coffee table and two brown sofas that were opposite of one another. As he entered the room, he was immediately once again searched by two guards that were waiting on either side of the elevator, their faces hidden behind gas masks, both looking exactly the same under the heavy black coloured armor they were wearing. After a tense moment, they backed off and showed him to the sofa in the center of the room.
—-----------------------------------------------
He woke up early that day, spending most of the morning dressing himself up for the occasion and grabbing a glass of water before proceeding downstairs from his apartment to arrive first for the buffet that was served up each morning, full of Vaplanan delicacies. To his approval, several of his men were already there enjoying themselves in the culinary wonders of this world, even if it wasn’t a restaurant, the food tasted like it would be deserving of a Michelin star. But, he wouldn’t have time to waste: it was his big day.
—-----------------------------------------------
While waiting patiently for the secretary to arrive, Sebastian couldn’t help but see several bullet holes that ‘decorated’ his sofa, in the level with his head. Looking around the room more, he noticed that a few books were littered on the floor, several of them had blood stains on them. By the look of things there was a fight here recently, which is why the security has been stepped up. But not even an assasination attempt would stop the wheels of Directorate bureaucracy from turning. Delays were unacceptable, it was always ‘business as usual’ no matter the cost. Not something he would personally agree with, but then again most of what was going on all over the planet didn’t sit well with him. His thoughts were interrupted by almost completely silent sliding of a door on the other end of the room. The door was so perfectly hidden in the wall, there was no way to tell where the wall ended and the door began. As the mechanism stopped it sliding, another heavily armored guard came out of the corridor that was revealed behind the door, followed by the man himself. He was skinny and weak, so small he looked like a dwarf to Sebastian, his hair was gray and he was trudging along towards the sofa with visible effort, using a cane to help him walk.
—-----------------------------------------------
Having finished his breakfast, Sebastian and his men packed their things and left in search of the property they had bought a few months prior, and had subsequently demolished and rebuilt to be more in line with their needs. It was an old warehouse. After a quick 20 minute walk they reached the train station and waited for their train which would take them to more remote parts of the countryside near a town. It was lucky that they found it when they did, as the company the town was depending on had recently packed up and left, causing many to lose jobs. However, with their arrival, the residents have found themselves employed once again, working mostly in the service industry that had a small boom with the arrival of Sebastian’s group on the planet who were sent there to work in the ‘warehouse’. Although on the surface it was just a standard warehouse, in its vast basements that were built in secret and well hidden from the layperson, was a currently small but always expanding base of operations that they would need in the coming weeks. Weapons storage, barracks, training ground, hacker arrays… in time it would become a small self sustaining FOB on Vaplana.

“Good day Sebastian, I see that your efforts on Campose Verdese were successful.” Said the tiny old man as he sat down.
“Greetings sir. It would appear so. I'm glad to see you in…” Sebastian took a moment to look at the bullet holes and beefed up security once again* “...Good health.”
The old man chuckled before continuing. “Some people are just too stupid to be left alive… And some are just so incompetent that they become a viability to the whole system. Might happen to you one day if you forget your place. Now, onto the business.”
He pulled up a remote and activated the holo display on the coffee table, showing all the information in greater detail as he talked about it, starting with Vaplana and its location on the galactic map.
“The Kingdom of Vaplana. A semi-constitutional monarchy with a bloody history of massacre in one of the Ancerious Wars which caused the populace to rebel and effectively overthrow the monarchy. After abdication of the previous ruler, the then current Prime Minister became a new king, leading the nation into an era of pacifism. To make up for their diminished military might, Vaplanans turned to a vast network of overlapping defense pacts and economic treaties, using the combination of coercion and courting to achieve their geopolitical goals. Due to its booming tourism industry and stability, Vaplana became a must-see destination for travelers all over the galaxy who enjoy nature's beauty.”
He changed the holo display to show the planet itself and various locations on it, along with information on its leaders and aristocracy.
“There are several other details you will be briefed about on your way there, but for now it suffices to say that you are being sent there to establish a PMC, or a private security firm. The site for planet FOB has been chosen in advance, a town centrally located between Vaplana and several other important cities. You are to inspect the progress of their construction, officially set up the company and secure several contracts. In time you are expected to make the whole operation self sufficient, but until then you will receive funding on a quarterly basis. Any question?”
“No sir. I will gather my things and depart immediately.” Sebastian said his goodbyes and went towards the elevator, but before it arrived the man spoke once again:
“Oh and Sebastian?”
“Sir?”
“Take your men with you. If any one of them gets funny ideas about returning home deal with them for me, will you?”
That was something he could not promise, and certainly something he would avoid doing at all costs. But he knew better than to argue his opinions here.
“Yes sir.”

After he inspected the warehouse, he boarded the first train for Veulas, the capital of Vaplana and also the location of his official HQ. After a comfortable ride and a bit of walking, he reached it; a tall building near several embassies from other nations in the galaxy, it was inviting with its small garden in front and green architecture it utilised, with plants growing over the walls from the built-in balconies made for them. He entered through the front door and stepped into the minimalist-designed lobby, with several doors branching off from behind the info desk, leading into various different parts of the headquarters, be it conference rooms or luxury lounges for VIPs to reside in.
Sebastian knew the layout of the whole building by heart, having studied its construction plans himself to make sure all was as he intended it to be.he took the elevator to his office, which although it had no windows still offered a beautiful view of the outside through the use of holographic technology and smart screens. He put his belongings on the desk and made himself comfortable.
“Finally,” he thought, “Securitas is open for business.”
