7:09 Standard time. Mirach system:
First Line Captain Dewitt looked from the side port of the USS Transcendent Angel the Union Super Dreadnought currently in Ancerious. It was the magnificent yet boring sight of a fortress system being created, a system which would finally allow the Union to get into this war. Mirach... he thought, this wasn't the assignment Dewitt wanted but he knew this was the precursor to the attack he lusted to take part in. He turned from the viewpoint and back to the consol, checking the work being done he surveyed the construction progress of the shipyard being constructed above the 2nd inhabited world in the system.
"Computer what is the percentage of construction of the Mirach shipyard?" Dewitt asked.
"Captain, the progress of the shipyard is at 87%, estimated construction time shows it to be completed within 2 weeks" The AI voice replied, Dewitt nodded and asked another question.
"What is the state of the defences?"
"Captain, Mirach defences are at 56% completed, the Planetary defences however have been fully constructed. We have 3 distinct weak points in the system perimeter, these will be covered in a week at which point additional system defences will be added. Captain do you require a list of defences? I can list the types and numbers of platforms along with location on the holomap" The AI asked in her calm female voice.
"No computer that isn't necessary, however send orders to the fleet to concentrate defence around the shipyard and those weak points..." Dewitt replied getting up a Holomap in front of his desk, he sat down in the leather chair and surveyed the 3D map.
"Yes Captain your orders have been sent"
"Thank you computer" Dewitt responded instinctually, he remembered it was a machine but he liked to talk to it though it was human, helped the mind. He looked at the position of his ship the Super Dreadnought, it was deployed around the 1st habitable planet in system, below him 9 billion people lived and worked in the name of the Union. He was honoured to defend them, yet he longed for the song of battle. Transcendent Angel was a Super Dreadnought, it was made for battle. It had no other purpose and Dewitt didn't like keeping his girl from her true purpose, the destruction of the Unions enemies. Though he smiled, when Mirach was completed all would be in place...
"Computer I want you to get me the schematics for the Immortal Empire craft which we received from Tenebrae, There will be no harm in learning about the enemy" Dewitt said as he laid back.
"Yes Captain, however some files may not be complete these are from both the Ambrosius conflict and from the Assault block the allied forces captured. Not all information about those craft may be shown leading to surpri..."
"Thank you computer, I understand" Dewitt cut in, he knew the enemy would always have something up their sleeve, he reviewed some of the files, but those were not what caught his eye. Small snippets of information pointed to some sort of Ultra Dreadnought named the 'T10' Dewitt smiled, there were no definitive files of its presence or capabilities or looks for that matter but the captain merely laughed, he opened his draw and brought out a bottle of Fruvian wine, he poured a glass and stood up. He walked to the view port again and took a sip savouring its sweet yet dry taste.
"So... T10 aye... Sounds like a challenge to me... Wonder why they didn't use it in Ambrosius..." Dewitt laughed "Probably because the bastards didn't have the balls to show after the Nakai turned up" he downed the glass and sat back down. He had to review these attack plans, all must be perfect when the time comes. Volkus would have his head if he didn't. Thankfully Volkus was the one orchestrating the overall defence plans of this system. Precisely why Dewitt and his girl were here, for overwhelming defence.
Dewitt felt something move in front of him and he quickly looked up to see the red eye of a Skia.
"What can I do for you?" Dewitt asked slightly annoyed it had merely appeared instead of asking to come in like everyone else. The Shadow waited for a second before speaking.
"I bring news" it said in a hissing tone.
"What news? Dewitt replied, he really wished these guys would get to the point instead of merely watching him like some sort of prey.
"The A'Zores has just come in system" The Shadow replied.
"It has!?" Dewitt laughed. The Skia cocked its head to one side in confusion "Ha-ha don't worry you wouldn't get the joke... Our defences now just got a little boost. Tell their captain I would like to speak with him, They are more than welcome to stay... But keep an eye on them, they aren't acting on Union orders anymore" Dewitt said, the Skia bowed and disappeared.
"So the Nakai have turned up... Guess with them here I won't be seeing that T10 Anytime soon" He laughed and shook his head at his horrendous jokes, A moment later a message alarm came through He turned. The screen on the wall came to life and standing before Dewitt stood a incredibly ornate and clean cut captain, his matt white and shining gold armour made him look incredibly powerful and Dewitt nodded when looking at him.
"This is Par'Las Captain of the Nakai Empire star ship the A'Zores, to whom am I speaking?" The ornate captain said in a very heavenly tone... and yet it carried such power, Dewitt replied.
"I am First Line Captain Dewitt of the Union star ship Transcendent Angel, It is a pleasure to meet you" He said trying to keep cool. The Nakai captain kept completely still but his face showed annoyance.
"Skip the pleasantries captain what do you want from us?" Par'Las replied.
"Excuse me? I think the question is What do you want captain? You just waltzed into a Union fortress system under construction, What is your purpose here" Dewitt replied slightly frustrated. The Nakai Captain sneered.
"You have balls human, to make that kind of claim. But as you seem to ignorant to realise who we are I will play nice. We are here to survey this system. For the enemy" Dewitt twitched at the sentence but didn't rise to the bait... He knew the A'Zores was fully capable of wasting every ship, defence and planet in the system in little more than 2 hours.
"Which enemy? The IE? Capitol? I can assure you no enemy is here" Dewitt said leaning on his table. The Nakai captain shook his head.
"For the Flux, the great enemy. You do not know about them, and you cannot see them and yet they watch your every move. Trust me human be glad your system is free of them, Though I am surprised it is. Mirach is a strong point and the Flux will surely come watch, we will wait here until I deem it appropriate to leave. Now I have matters to attend to" The link cut and Dewitt swore. Who the hell were the Flux? Hmmm he thought, better tell high command and the other captains in system about this. More importantly he needed to notify everyone about the A'Zores... But the Flux, he didn't want to say anything... in case nobody believed him, best to keep that knowledge to himself, but in time maybe...
"Computer... Get me Captain Volkus... We need to talk"
