It had been some time, but Bohler, Terri, Vibius, Fischer, Powell and Arandas where all finally freed from their missions, and met on several holographic displays to make their reports on the state of the Dectrose Empire. Bohler, took the floor. "Well, the situation with the AGA is still open, unfortunately, the Z1 has already departed, so that chip is off of the table. Carnaith is still very much a trustworthy contact for the AGA, but I'm not entirely sure how the RSC or Union of Worlds will react to the latest information. We could hand over the schematics and information we ourselves gathered, but I doubt it will matter. Our best course of action with the AGA as a whole is to simply keep meeting them at the diplomatic table, and doing the best we can. Overall, I think the AGA still seek some sort of action against the Dectrose, either though diplomacy or otherwise. I know the Meralis are kicking up again, but we will need more officers and ships if we are going to stay on the field."
He paused, then nodded to Terri, who held her cup of coffee in her hands tightly "Well, I have bad news as well, the TDA and UWA are likely backing out of relations, I'll attempt to hold onto the embassy we have there, but the situation is getting much worse. As most of you know, ISF Fleet Admiral Amastacia was arrested, put on trial and found guilty. This seems to have been a kangaroo court of sorts in order to silence her for her actions at the Summit, but it is uncertain. Margheriti is currently performing an extraction of Amastacia now, the latest reports state that there was an accident with the mind-wiping process and she's suffering from severe dementia. We can likely reverse some of the effects, but DRI is piecing together a recovery plan as we speak." Powell suddenly interjected "It sounds like a cover-up to me, this whole thing was probably staged, so the UWA wouldn't let a defector serve with us."
She sighed "We don't know, but we will as soon as DRI gets a good look at her. Vibius, what's going on with Skalia?" He shifted uncomfortably "Well, last report from Chji is that the Far Reach and their shade escorts fled to Capitol territory, I'm trying to come up with a plan of action to possibly have our men extracted from the ship, but politics aren't really my strong suit. Those men onboard that ship will have to wait a little longer than expected.. I'm sorry to report this, Bohler." He nodded "Just get our men back home, the rest can wait for now." There was a quiet moment "Fischer, any other news?"
He too looked downtrodden "The Accord are pulling out, seems to be some misinformation and misplaced virtues led to their withdrawal from several diplomatic agreements, we're currently retrieving what equipment we have there, and sending back those Accordite Corsairs that have decided to return home. There are a few Dectrothians that chose to stay, and it is a free galaxy after all. I'll keep an eye on the Auraxii situation as well, so far our thrust towards Illios has gone well, and our goals seem easy and simple enough to not step on many toes. We'll try to save as many Auraxii as possible, and bring them into the Empire if they wish to join us, we have quite a lot to offer."
After he nodded a few times, Powell smirked "Jeeze guys, lose the long faces. Our defense has been quite steady, nothing really happening lately, however, I think it'd be a good idea to bring some pies to our allies, maybe we can fix them up something they like? Oh, and maybe trim the weeds if they got any, we might just make them happy instead of" His voice turned into a mimicking tone of the various people there "'The Accord are not reading the newspapers!' or 'UWA isn't so free after all!' or 'Guess what guys, the AGA still hate us!'" His voice returned quickly to normal after a deep cough from Terri. "All I'm saying is, we're not throwing out enough diplomatic missions, we need to get involved with our allies. We make them happy, others might just sniff at the FDC enough to be interested."
The attention then turned to the new person there, who spoke clearly "The Oracle has been perfectly fine thus far, we've been using it quite a bit to scan for any planets of the suitable category to hold rare materials, as well as up-to-date maps of all of our territories, which will include the ones we take in the Auraxii campaign once they are secured." Powell rose an eyebrow "That's it? No overwhelming amount of hatemail? No death threats? Nothing exciting?" Arandas rolled his eyes, "It's about as exciting as you sitting in a system defending it and telling jokes to the mirror." Powell looked hurt "Heeeyy, at least I have a sense of humor!" Arandas scoffed "But yeah, I've already heard about the demands for it's dismantling and destruction and how it's the scourge of the galaxy, probably those who don't actually read about it or it's use on the public domain."
"Alright" Bohler sighed, rubbing his head at the two "So then that's the plan, we focus on getting everyone back who are currently imprisoned, we cut the cord but not our embassies with the UWA, TDA and Accord, so their problems don't continue to be ours, send out diplomatic missions to our allies and secure the Dectrose for the big FDC moves. See you then." With the buzzing of holograms, the meeting adjourned.
