Admiral Kolchakia decided to go out again, which went well with the order from United Fleets Command. She and her fleet would go and find the IRS again. And this time though, she now had some more authority to speak about things and deals that she previously wasn't sure about yet. Once she was in space, she tried to send out a message to the IRS using whatever contacts she remembered, hoping to get a response.
"And as stated in the report here, our macroeconomic forecasts are stable. Fiscal expenditures still remain at acceptable levels and industrial output has increas-"
The terminal in front of Barenkovic's blipped, signalling a new incoming message.
"I'm sorry sir, it seems like there is a new ping from the Foreign Service. May I open it up for a short while?" Barenkovic bowed.
"Carry on." Autarch Ayzen nodded.
"Well... its a communique from the UWA, a new nation we had contacted in one of the neutral peripheral zones. They request a diplomatic meeting to discuss further matters. As much as I would like to be there, unfortunately theres much work to settle here."
"Then I'll go."
"Understood sir, I'll send a Diplomat to represent me-" Barenkovic's words was cut off before he suddenly came to terms with what the Autarch truly said. His eyes widened, mouth agape.
"Sir are you sure about this? Quite frankly I'm not too excited about leaving our Autarch to the dangers out there. Anything can happen; APP ambushes, anomalies and nebula storms like the one you encountered on your way to the Union territories."
"I can take care of myself Barenkovic, no problem," Autarch Ayzen replied. "Ask them the details of the meeting. Where and when. I can leave starting tomorrow morning."
"If you say so, sir," Barenkovic nodded as he typed up the reply to the UWA's message.
The UWA sent a fast reply, detailing the meeting "It would be close to your own borders if you are willing. We also wish, if this may be acceptable as well, to visit one of your worlds and meet you there instead upon the surface. We are on the way so we may arrive soon enough in a few days or a week." Then after a while, they sent another message "Will we know who we will talk to?" And then the Admiral herself waited, sighing as she looked at her pending screen, waiting for an IRS reply.
By this time, Ayzen had already taken full control over the meeting leaving Barenkovic to deal with his own matters.
"Greetings, Admiral. I am Ayzen, Autarch of the Interstellar Republic. I serve as the Republic's highest executive authority."
"I propose to meet on this planet. Low traffic and an interesting view." the message continued with an attached document. The document was an infographic on the planet of Kel-Dasora, a quiet border world with a relatively low population density compared to the bustling megapolises of the planets in the inner systems.
The highest executive authority. It shocked Admiral Kolchakia to hear that. She said "I see. Thank you, Autarch. I am... honestly surprised to know you are the one I will meet. Very well. We will make our way there soon enough." And they made good on that promise, Admiral Kolchakia ordering her fleet to go and thus going. Their engines screamed as they propelled the bodies of metal forward towards the border of the IRS.
----------------
Days passed. The UWA convoy had reached Kel-Dasora's orbit and were warmly escorted by IRS patrols to one of the orbital stations hanging above the green and orange marble. Admiral Kolchakia and her delegation was greeted by a contingent of IRS Marines and then escorted by a team of diplomatic attendents to a shuttle reserved for them. Autarch Ayzen was awaiting for them on the planet below, in one of the secure government facilities located in the planetary capital.
Kolchakia and her companions made it to the shuttle and from there started to make their way down to the place where she would meet Ayzen. All the way through though, she was nervous. She made sure she wore her uniform well and often fixed her hair up while her sidearm remained in it's holster and on safety. The rest of her companions also fixed their appearance and checked the gifts they brought for the occasion.
Autarch Ayzen was dressed as he had always appeared to be for decades, with a red overcoat and a pair of black pants. And he looked as he always looked; a pale white human male in his 30s with a squarish jaw, black hair, and glowing red camera for a right eye. When Admiral Kolchakia entered the room, he turned away from the plexiglass windows that were as tall as the entire meeting room itself, a perfect gateway to view Kel-Dasora's open grasslands blending together with the clusters of newly developed industrial cities, and faced the UWA delegation.
"Greetings, Admiral and all representatives of the United Worlds of Alondra. I am Autarch Ayzen and on behalf of the Republic, I welcome you."
Ayzen took a slight bow, with his left hand extended towards the large rectangular table in the middle. On it was an assortment of human food, cups of various sweetened fruit-based drinks and glass jugs of clear water. "I look forward to deepening the Republic's ties with your nation. Please take a seat and make yourselves comfortable."
The United Worlders were amazed. But soon enough, they recovered from the shock and Kolchakia sat down along with her companions and said to her host "Thank you sir. I am amazed at your hospitality. I hope I and my companions have come at a good time to speak with you."
"It is at a good time," Ayzen replied as he took his seat opposite of the Admiral. "Our all-, I mean, our trade partner, the Davians, has been effectively destroyed by AURA. And as this war rages on, it is vital for us to expand our trade routes so as to keep our economy stable and strong."
He took a bite of seasoned meat. "Well, so I heard that the Diplomat in Gasanova had offered you the standard economic packages. Infrastructural loans, discounted food supplies, surplus weapons, ectera and ectera. After clearing it with your superiors, what is the UWA's answer?"
"The UWA is favorable. After a little discussion, with much of the thought given by the President and his Vice President, the UWA is affirmative of the offer. We will accept the deal. On top of the deal, we would like to, if need arise, request for some of your cargo freighters and whatever spare ships capable of delivering at least millions of tons of supplies from one point in the galaxy to the other. We believe our forces, which are travelling towards the shattering civilization of the Auraxii, require some support. This does not have to be accepted as I only ask of you politely for so. And on the other hand, we are interested in setting up an embassy in the IRS, perhaps on this world, while also establishing a friendly link to the AGA itself."
--------------------------
"I am happy that your President has accepted our offers. May it be of great use. Though now in relation to the question of Auxarii supplies, may I ask what interests the UWA has in the Auxarii that drives them to send their forces?" Ayzen took a sip of water.
"Strictly military and humanitarian. We have reason to believe that the fall of the Auraxii has attracted the Capitol and other hostile forces. As you may or may not know, we despise the APP nations for their slavery and their hostility. We even declared the name of one of our super Dreadnoughts as the Bitch Empress to quietly insult the Empress of the Capitol. We despise them as any democracy would against tyranny. On top of it all, we're afraid. So we sent a force to establish a base and outposts while also seeking to take care of the refugees created by the situation."
She reflected on what more to say and then continued after she took a glass and filled it with water "Tell me, sir, do you realize how many liters of water and how many kilograms of food my nation needs to muster to supply and resupply our fleet sent out there? Much that could not be measured unless it is in the millions or billions. We realize that in this age, any civilization worthy of space can do such a feat. But we don't want to pressure our nation too much." She leaned forward and said "In any case, we hope for your help."
"I like your honesty and your...energy, Admiral," Ayzen gave a slight smile. 'Democracy', a word he had not heard in a long time. When was the last time had he heard someone utter it with such idealism, he thought to himself. Realising that he had zoned out for almost a full second in front of Kolchakia, he brought himself back to reality.
"Your reasons are understandable, Admiral. In fact, your belief of the APP threat has turned into reality. APP raiding parties have already attempted to pillage some of the Auxarii worlds, including those under the AGA peacekeeping zone."
"With the conflict escalating and our forces tied up elsewhere, the UWA's humanitarian convoys would significantly relieve things at hand. So if you want my answer; yes. I will give the order to lend the UWA some of our surplus freighters and gain access to orbital shipyards, supply depots and other facilities that the IRS has set up in the AGA-controlled zone. Your presence there would most likely gain favour among the AGA making it easier for the UWA to set up links. And not to ignore your previous request for an embassy; that's also a yes. In exchange, we would also like to set up a orbital trading station in the UWA to act as our embassy there."
------------------------
The Admiral struggled to contain her joy. She shook her knees and she kept her face together to stop herself from smiling. Then she proclaimed
"Thank you, Sir. Very much. I am very...glad to hear your answer." She could not speak further as she reached out to shake his hand. She told him "I shall carry this message back home to my President. He would be most pleased. I..am not sure how I may be able to repay your great kindness and your sincere reply."
Ayzen chuckled, amused at the Admiral's reaction. "Consider this a gesture of goodwill for your willingness to be our partners," Ayzen replied as he grasped Kolchakia's extended hand. The conclusion of the meeting coincided well with the end of meal. The Autarch then tidied himself and stood up, now looking at each and every representative of the UWA.
"To conclude this productive meeting, why don't you all join me for a virtual tour of Kel-Dasora?"
"And as stated in the report here, our macroeconomic forecasts are stable. Fiscal expenditures still remain at acceptable levels and industrial output has increas-"
