The City of Exceion Sprawled beneath the Insulian sky, still partially clouded over, and hazy with ash left over by the massive attack on the world and it's system only months before. evidence of its passing still glimpsed among the structures as one observed areas where entire blocks or swatches of buildings had been leveled by orbital bombardments.
While the debris in the atmosphere had largely settled in the past few months, with additional help from the Storm-grid engineers. The Previously bright blue sky had taken on an almost permanent dusky orange color, the brightly lit spires of the city towering against it, highlighted by the blood red light that the setting twin suns of the system took as they dipped below the horizon.
Pinpricks of light in the sky crossing from one horizon to the other, marking the complex orbital rings that encircled the planet. Small ships and Craft darted between the towers in routes throughout the city, on business unknown to any except for their pilots and passengers, while in the center of the city. the towering structure of the Imperial Sector rose above all of the other buildings in the Metropolis.
Xtopher, System administrator of Exceion, and Grande councilmen of the Ancerious colony Empire, sat back in his Interface Unit in the Sectors Administrative chamber, several Versus components Hooked up to his spinal Column and skull via his V.E.A. unit and the Throne like units systems. Screens and readouts of operations and Projects of all manners going on throughout Exceion Projected in the air around the Calvara as he addressed certain issues, and sent reps and imperial Agents to deal with the lesser pressing ones.
The air several feet away from Xtopher began to ripple and bend like a disturbed pool of water. This disturbance was utterly silent and could’ve gone completely unnoticed if not for the size of the area it engulfed.
For several seconds, Xtopher didn't notice the distortions as they appeared near him, the change in the perception of the room through the rippling air having gone unheeded as he combed over his duties.
It was only by blind chance that a new screen appeared in the air in front of him in the general direction of the disturbance, the Calvara pausing as he glimpsed the Beginnings of what appeared to him to be a Teleport exit point Materializing in front of him.
Immediately he Shunt down the screens, them and their contents flickering out of existence as he closed their links, assigning a Greater Entity from the grid to assess their Notifications and Systems, All the while notifying several Security Entities of what was occurring, should the new visitor prove to be too aggressive for his tastes.
Deftly his jointed hand went to the hilt of his Oscillator Sword at his hip. a move based purely on reflex.
Truthfully, the Calvara was somewhat excited by the Event, Normally the Sectors shunt-Kill tech would have normally kept anyone using a method of teleportation to enter the Structure standing at the Door or Stuck in between walls, but whomever was entering was apparently having no problem doing it, and That, combined with The empires recent state of war, had him On his feet. He knew that they would most likely be unable to hurt him, or if they could he would simply shunt out and let security handle the intruder.
Inquisitively, he remained seated at his Interface unit, Watching the distortion closely, Curious as to who, or what, would enter.
The air's fluctuations increased as High King Helios stepped through it, the intimidating royal drake's massive form towering over Xtopher. Helios' white and gold armor shined, even in the dark lighting. The drake looked down on Xtopher as he brought the rest of himself through the portal and smiled.
"Hello."
Xtopher looked up from his seat in the unit, the Glowing points in his sockets swiveling up to look the Creature that had emerged from the entryway in the face as it brought itself fully into the room. looking down at him with what apparently was a smile on its face. Although he was still slightly cautious, he allowed himself to relax a fair deal, whatever the thing was, it apparently didn’t have any intention to Really harm him. if it had wanted to do that it would have simply attacked if it had gotten that far already.
"Well Hello there." he replied, tilting his jaw in as best of a smile as he could manage. "I apologize if I didn't hear you come in. My Role in things has been busy recently, and I've found myself carrying most of its weight" he went on, attempting to start some sort of exchange.
He got up from the Throne like Device, the Versus components disengaging from his V.E.A. units back and spine with a series of hissings and Clicking mechanical noises, rising to his full height to greet the Creature without having to tilt his head so far back, the reddish metal of his own armors segmented plating Creaking a bit as he did. At 9 Feet tall, he wasn't nearly as tall as the creature was, but it did manage to help somewhat.
“I’m the one who should apologize for coming unannounced." Helios said as he approached Xtopher, his feet clicking on the floor with every step and his tail swinging harmlessly side to side.
"I am High King Helios, of the Drake Empire." Helios reached to shake Xtopher's hand.
"I have come as a representative of my people." Helios smiled.
"Ah, It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance Lord Helios" Xtopher said in response. "Thank you for relieving my fears that you were here to Tear my skull form my shoulders." he chuckled a bit as he said this.
"And there’s No need for apology." the Calvara said as he took a step from where he had sat, his own footsteps creating thuds on the short flight of black marble steps that lead up to the unit he had been in. "The fact that you could Shunt in here so easily when most cant, is impressive enough to negate that detail of formality, we can call that even."
He reached out and took the Drakes hand, giving it a solid Pump.
"I am Xtopher, System Administrator of the Exceion system and its people, and Grande Councilmen of the Tenebrean Colony Empire of the Ancerious Galaxy." he said, returning the smile as best as he could. "I Give Welcome to you and the people of the Drake Empire."
"The pleasure is all mine." Xtopher said as Helios turned to go look out of some of the windows mounted at the far end of the chamber, he moved to follow him, his Uniform robes swishing silently.
"Your hopes may very well bear fruit Helios. An official alliance and Relations can be quickly arranged and sent out across our systems if you should request, as i should see no reason currently as to why not." he said as he neared the drake, taking a moment to look out the window and follow his gaze as he looked across the city.
"As I'm sure you've guessed, looking out at our capital." he said, motioning out at the city below them. "We're not exactly in our greatest shape at the moment. An attack from an enemy has damaged this system greatly. But many others still stand, and from those we would be more then glad to provide as much assistance as we can give to your people to establish themselves here in Ancerious."
"Although." he said. "I might ask to know a Tad more about your people, the Drakes?"
"This is a prime example of why the drakes would like to form an alliance with Tenebrae. We have much to give." Helios looked at Xtopher.
“We are the very elements embodied, nature itself, we are pure magic in physical form.” He said, motioning toward the crystal on his chest, his soul shard.
"My race is ancient and long lived. We have waited and watched the worlds from behind our dimensional veils for a very long time. We have begun to grow tired of living in solitude, yet disaster after disaster has forced us to keep to ourselves. We don’t want any other races to suffer similar fates but we fear such a fate may be imminent for the people of Ancerious, and we wish to prevent such a disaster-" his smile slightly faded.
"-by any means possible."
"... I believe you Helios, the fact that your here is reason enough to give that merit." Xtopher said with a slight shrug. "A king coming to speak for his people himself is not something often seen. Worthy of Note."
"If your race is indeed as old as you say, then your fears are obviously not without good support or reason." The Calvara went on; half musing to himself "That's not a fate that i would wish upon any race... The one that attacked us, Perhaps..." he said, a slight amount of Amusement in his voice.
He Leaned forward slightly, inspecting helios soul shard More closely. "Hmm, so your race, all has those?" "Incredible, it's like a natural Versus tool, better though." he said standing up straight again. "Your people must surely have a great many things to give..."
He tilted his head to the side thoughtfully. "Just one more question, I approve of this alliance massively, and my people will no doubt Support it hugely, but i must ask, out of my own curiosity." he paused thoughtfully, debating whether or not he should continue pausing what sounded like good fortune. Before deciding to Peak his curiosity. "Why did you choose us? What made the Tenebrean people worthy of such a races Notice?"
Helios let out a chuckle as he turned. "Because, our people have met before, and your people had the misfortune of meeting our problems as well" Helios' smile had left his face completely.
"3 of them in fact. But such matters are for another day. certainly not something to burden ourselves with now" Helios smiled once more.
"is that all you needed to know?"
"Yes, Yes. I think that'll be all that I'll need to know." the calvara said, nodding his head. Turning to look out of the window for a moment more.
"I'm curious as to where our people came into contact with each other before." he asked curiously. obviously there had been an incident at some point in his peoples past where they had come into contact with each other, but just where was unknown to him. "But as you said. That will be a discussion best saved for another day." he finished, hoping in the back of his mind to continue the topic with the drake.
"It shall be done." He said, giving a nod and turning back to face the king. "An alliance between our peoples shall be put into place throughout the colonies and systems immediately, as well as Programs to help your people get established, We can offer Planet's, moons, Free trade between the two empires. The Whole program if you would request it." he tilted his jaw back a bit, giving as best of a smile as he could manage, all the while hoping that he wasn't overstepping boundaries that the old king and his people would reserve for themselves.
"This is good news, Xtopher. My people could use all the help we can get." Helios said as he smiled.
"In return, we shall offer our aid to the people of Tenebrae in any way we can, no request is too great for the allies of the drakes. May the future be a bright one, because a whole new world of opportunities has been unlocked for our people." Helios' armor shined in the light, almost radiant, seemingly glowing brighter with his words.
"Indeed one has." Xtopher said as the drakes armor began to glow, raising a jointed hand to Shield his face from the light coming off of it. "Our peoples future look to be bright." he chucked a bit. "Heh, No pun intended."
"The people of the Colonies will very much appreciate what your people have to offer them, I'm certain. And an increase in trade might help with our current situation." He mused, turning to walk back towards the center of the room. Bringing up several small Screens, and alerting the previously armed security entities to stand down for the time being.
"Now, Are there any Points that remain to be Presented?" he Asked, turning back to the Drake. "Any, Requests or Agreements that will still need to be met between our people? or will that be a matter for them to Resolve amongst their own leaders?"
helios laughed as he moved about the room with Xtopher, the massive drake's footsteps sounded loudly against the floor with a combination of weight and sharp claws clicking against it, his tail dragging behind him.
"This shall be an interesting alliance as our people learn more from each other. I do not believe there should be any major points to be made than what is already in place. What there is already is unchangeable so we best leave it be and learn to work with what we have, such matters will have to be addressed as they come. I'm sure you understand. All I request for now is that any issues with my people be brought to me."
"Hmm." Xtopher nodded. "Very well then, that can all be arranged, and I'll leave it at that." he said as several of their agreed terms appeared as text on the screens hovering near him
"Excellent!" Helios exclaimed as he leaned over and went over the agreements.
"My people will be pleased with this."
"For that, Me and my people will be very glad Helios" Xtopher said, looking back at the drake as the screens Fulled out with further agreements of trade and communications between the two species.
"These Agreements are to your liking i trust?" he asked, giving the old King a questioning look.
"Once they've been finalized." he said. "They'll be sent along with a notification of our agreement to every System administrator and staff member within the colonies and systems under our control, all of them will know of our alliance, and you can expect that they will Respect it."
Helios scanned the screens with his golden eyes which quickly darted back and forth as he read and smiled.
'Yes, these agreements will do fine, Xtopher. And I’m glad to hear that, this should make things much easier for my people."
"Very well then." Xtopher said as the drake approved of the Agreements, Waving a jointed hand over the screen, causing it to dissipate, the partials scattering to mounted projection crystals around the room. "There it is." he said, pointing above the unit where he was sitting earlier. Where the Screen, with its listed agreements Flickers into appearance, glowing Amber. "It's on its way..."
"I have to apologize..." The Calvara said, looking back at the drake, beginning to walk back to the unit. "But I've been away from my duties to the systems... you understand?" he asked, giving a gesture. "Being a ruler of any kind is not without responsibilities."
He chuckled as he reached the base of the Steps that mounted his throne like unit. Pausing to look back at the Drake. "Heh. When, Can we expect to see the first arrivals of your people, Helios?"
Helios began to walk back to the portal from which he camel.
"I understand how busy you must be, I best be off for that same reason. You can expect my people's arrival within the week, plenty of time to prepare." Helios stepped into the portal.
"I look forward to all our future endeavors, Xtopher. It’s been a pleasure working with you."
"As do i, and the Pleasure has been all mine Helios." Xtopher said in reply, nodding in approval. "I don't know you that much yet, but i can tell already that your a good leader. and that Says A lot." he went on as he ascended the Steps for the Interface unit, settling into it amongst clicks and hisses as its systems Reattached themselves to his V.E.A. units Spine and skull. The flow of Reports, and Systems beginning to flow once again in his mind, the screens reappearing around his Form.
"Preparations For the arrival of your people will be made within the week." he said, looking at the drake across the Room, with a confirming nod of his skull. "I await their Arrival with great anticipation."
"As do I, Xtopher. So long" the rest of Helios made its way through the portal which closed almost immediately after, a slight flash of light darted in the air as it settled and things returned to normal.
"Till our next encounter." Xtopher said as the portal closed, the rippling effect dissipating with the flash of light, the area where it had been seeming as if nothing had been there. The Administrative chamber once again empty except for the Calvara, The screens of his displays and readouts hovering in the air around him as he went back to his duties.
He paused for a moment, looking back out the windows of the room, looking out at the cityscape as it slowly rebuilt itself from the Wreckage and ruin that had befallen it. It would be some time more before insulas recovered completely; new relations would only help to speed the process up.
"Yes" he thought. as he notified several entities throughout the system of new Priorities he had for them to follow. "Hopefully that will be sooner than later."
A new empire would soon arrive in Ancerious, and The tenebrean people were never ones to refuse a proper welcoming.
