Although the Alliance had only been in the Ancerious Galaxy a relatively short time it wasted no time at all getting itself properly established, from the Gorganos system which started life off as a small far off colony it had come far and was now the beating heart of the Three Domains Alliance Operations in the galaxy. Today was a just a seemingly regular day for the system, cargo ships ran their courses and made up the vast majority of the traffic, importing and exporting valuable minerals, construction supplies and essential items for colonial growth. However for Sub-Director Alexis Chamber it was a day different to the regular grind, the Vestahl Commonwealth was expected to arrive during the day for a diplomatic meeting at the central government complex located in New Gatlinburg the largest city the Alliance had so far in Ancerious.
The Vestahl Commonwealth's delegation arrived without much in the way of fanfare. Three ships, a civilian vessel and two destroyer escorts bearing the insignia of the SRU, emerged from slipspace on the edge of the system, and began transmitting standard diplomatic codes and awaiting for a approach vector and landing instructions from traffic control.
“Vestahl Commonwealth delegation you are cleared to land at pad zero-zero, sending approach vectors now. Welcome back to Gorganos.” One of the system traffic controllers addressed the Commonwealth fleet.
The vessels acknowledged the instructions and followed the approach vectors in, the civilian ship descending toward the landing pad while its two escorts remained in orbit.
Alexis watched from the landing pad foyer as the Vestahl ship touched down. Once the dust had cleared she walked out to await their representative to disembark the ship.
It was a large group of people that disembarked from the ship, though two men stuck out as the obvious shot-callers among the group. The first was a young man of asian descent. He was dressed stylishly, his hair short and just unkempt enough to be stylish. He wore a black peacoat and thick rimmed glasses, and paused just outside of the shuttle to adjust a thin black tie before continuing across the pad to the foyer.
The man at his side stood in stark contrast to the polished stylish look of the first man. He was dressed plainly, in tan combat boots, green cargo pants, and a black t-shirt emblazoned with the logo and stylized font of what could be assumed to be a metal band of some persuasion. A black baseball cap sat backwards upon his head, and a thick beard sprouted from the man's face.
Surrounding the two of them was a gaggle of diplomatic aides and security personnel (all of whom were armed and armored). The party entered the foyer, the aides falling silent as the two men approached Alexis.
"Good morning," The stylish man said with a half smile. "Or... whatever time of day it is. I'm Takeshi Kurasawa, Senior Foriegn Relations Officer, and this is Arthur Eldridge III, Esquire... who is head of my security,"
Eldrige, for his part, seemed to have a face locked in a perpetual frown, and while Takeshi extended a hand toward Alexis, Eldridge remained still and silent.
Alexis chuckled in a friendly manner before shaking Takeshi’s hand firmly.
“No, you had it right the first time. I’m Alexis Chambers Sub-Director for the Alliance Ancerious department. Welcome to New Gatlinburg” She said politely and with a smile. Once the hand shake was done and dusted she motioned for herself and the delegation to move into the conference room that had been prepared.
“So if you’ll just follow me and we can get started on today’s business.”
Alexis led the delegation on a short walk through the building, the halls were tastefully decorated in the Alliance colours as well as sporting portraits and busts of past Alliance war heroes, a reminder to the Alliance people of the great sacrifice given so that they could be where they are today. When they approached the wooden double doors to the conference room they were opened up by the formally dressed security guards. Inside the conference rooms was a large donut shaped table with a holo projector in the middle, with enough seats on the outside for all members of the delegation as well as seats against the wall for others that weren’t so involved with the talks. The walls followed the same scheme as in the halls and along the back wall of the room were three portraits of the Alliance founders. Alexis offered seats to her guests before taking one herself on the opposite side of the table.
“So what can the Alliance do for you today?” She asked courteously
Takeshi and Eldridge both sat at the table while the aides took seats against the wall. The remainder of the entourage, mostly security personnel, remained standing. Takeshi, after digging through his pockets momentarily, produced a tablet and tapped at the screen for a few minutes before finally answering.
"In the interest of furthering diplomatic relations I have been instructed by my government to open an embassy," He said simply, sliding the tablet toward Alexis. The screen displayed a simple letter, addressed to 'whom it may concern' confirming that Takeshi had been sent to open an embassy and act as ambassador to the TDA.
Alexis read over the letter presented to her in detail just as a formality really. Opening an embassy was a pretty straight forward task after all.
“Yep, there’ll be no disagreements here on our end, we just need to know if you want an area of space in system or nice plot of land down here in the city.”
"The city would be preferable," Takeshi answered, taking the table back. "An embassy needs to serve our own people travelling abroad as much as providing a permamanent link between our two governments. A space station would be... quite inconveniant for the average citizen."
“Of course that’s easily done, after all we reserved a lot of empty space here at the complex for such an event.” Alexis used the central display to show a layout of the central government complex. She moved the display from the front gate to a plot of land a few minutes’ drive inside the complex.
“We’ll give you lot zero three as close as we can get to the front. As you can see you have a decent amount of space to build on however buildings planetside do have to adhere to our building codes namely the emergency shelter act of 3630. Outside of that you have complete freedom to build how you please.” She smiled
"That will do wonderfully," Takeshi said with a nod. "Just show me where to sign and I can begin getting everything in order. Lots to do you know. Contractors need to be contracted, funds requisitioned, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera..."
He trailed off and drummed his fingers against the table.
"I suppose it would be helpful if someone gave me the lay of the land so to speak,"
“Well, if everything is settled I’ll have a car brought around for you with a guide and they’ll give you the grand tour of the city and the complex.” Alexis smiled and saw her visitors off, even though it was just an embassy she felt it was definitely a good move into the right direction with the Commonwealth.
