Having been largely inactive for some time, Goto was eager to get out of the confined feeling he felt when he was on planetary assignment. It was odd to others they felt that being on shore leave was freeing, but to Goto this was far from the truth. He needed the vastness of space, and the feel of the ship humming below him to feel free. Kenny, a new diplomat to arrive into Ancerious just needed some sort of distraction, he had been anxious to enter the new frontier, and escape his past. Here both Goto and Kenny could do so.
Kenny had asked around Decoroso Command for an assignment, and after the hustle and bustle of the refits of new ships and the unfolding events around recent incidents, they had concluded that a test run would be good to have, sending out the new Emerald Jewel Vs out to flex their new hulls and present a new face of the Dectrothian Space Forces. Decoroso Command assigned Goto to escort Kenny to meet with the Auraxii, a neighbor that had trade with the Empire, with the desire to strengthen relations with an APP power.
Both of the men, relieved, packed their things, boarded the new ship and set off for the Auraxii border. The old Emerald Jewel IV was barely 3.4km long, while the newly built ship was more along the lines of a cruiser of the Dectrose Empire, at 4.8km. The extra space was much appreciated by it's crew, as well as the Mantis programs residing in it as well. The 'Impetuous' ran alone towards the border where it slowed to a halt, and opened up communications, requesting that a diplomatic meeting take place, and asking for the location of such. Goto tapped his fingertips together, feeling a twinge of excitement wash over him.
After intentionally leaving the Dectrosi ship untouched for several days to determine the intent of the vessel, an old Helio-class cruiser rended itself into realspace within medium range of the visiting ship. Painted in the old tan and beige of the mothball fleet, the ship stood proud at nearly a two point seven Kilometers long with its finned spinal gun staring ready at the more advanced fleet.
After only a few moments more a voice came over open low-band.
"Dectrosi Ship, this is Hetman Greer of the ASC Razor, welcome to edge of Auraxii space. We received your diplomatic hails and greet you in turn."
A request to send a data-packet would arrive shortly after the message. "You have been invited to Auraxii space proper for diplomatic talks if you wish be relieved as one appropriate of your political rank."
Even though the voice was strained to speak common, the offer was sincere. The time of trade had been fruitful, and one less potential enemy during the war was to be looked on with courtesy and equality of respect by the new Auraxii doctrine.
For several days, Goto had tinkered around with the new vessel, playing with it as a small child would with a new toy. Kenny meanwhile kept to himself for the most part, a silent, almost unseen member of this visit, only appearing outside of his quarters when it was meal time. When the Auraxii finally answered, Goto nearly slipped off his command chair from the surprise. It wasn't like he wasn't expecting them, he was more off guard by the new klaxons that he hadn't tested as of yet. I mean, who would intentionally test them out when it was peaceful and quiet? Well, Powell, he would do that.
Shaking off the shock, he waved his hand over the holographic console, pleased that there was no longer an actual button. "Yes, this is Rear Admiral Yuma Goto, in command of the ISF Impetuous. We are glad to meet you as well, I am transmitting the data-packet now, and Diplomat Jones Kenny is ready to conduct diplomatic talks, whereabouts shall we proceed to?" With a short whir, the ship's FTL drive warmed up, ready to go, almost eager to, like a new vehicle that begs to be flung along at incredible speeds.
The reply came instantly. "The civil world of Kree. We'll see you there. Hetman Greer out." The Razor rended it's hole into FTL and flung itself forward.

The world of Kree was definitely an Auraxii world. Massive orbitals and stations dotted the atmosphere. Cities that spanned continents could be seen on the surface with massive oceans ands tracts of green filling the space between them. The shipyards were hard at work laying down keel work for new vessels of both war and peace.
It had been founded centuries ago as the first solution to Auraxii overpopulation, and carefully managed as to not pollute the beautiful oceans or destroy the pristine ecosystem. Compared the the Icy Rock that was their homeworld, this planet was a gem held for diplomatic envoys, the worthy, the clans with no criminality, and the families of the military. For all its beauty it was all relative fortress.
It was quite a beautiful world, one with pristine beauty, though under that beauty were thorns that dared those brave or stupid enough to strike. It was a marvel that Goto spent some time admiring before his gaze was broken by Kenny's entrance. "Rear Admiral, how are things looking up here?" Goto looked back on the planet "Pleasantly, it's quite a view from here, I'm almost jealous that you get to go down there to experience it." Kenny glanced back to the young Rear Admiral "You're not coming with?"
Shaking his head, Goto firmly planted his feet to the floor of the bridge "I've had my shore leave, I'd much rather stay aboard the ship, if you don't imagine the Auraxii would mind?" Several moments of silence passed, the chatter of bridge crew and electronics filled the void until Kenny nodded ever so slightly "I don't think so, I'm sure they'd understand if they ask. Though mark a date sometime, might be a fresh change of pace for you.. Once you're back to shore leave." Goto chuckled lightly "Sure, sure, now get on down there, we got a mission to get done." Kenny smiled in return "Aye, Rear Admiral."
The Hawkbat shuddered in the docking bay as it lifted off, the pilot seemed to be dusting off his control stick for a moment before streaking out of the bay, his hands moving like lightning as he flashed clearances to anyone that asked for them, and controlled their decent, checking instruments to see if the humidity was high enough for a Dectrothian to breathe without an apparatus, and the other important details like heat, cold, pressure, gravity.. The pilot was skilled, though it was obvious he hadn't flown in some time. Soon enough, they landed at the pad designated by the Auraxii, and Kenny awaited the confirmation from the pilot if he would need a respirator.
As soon as the ship landed, a dome would cover the dropship and the humidity began increasing to a thick 86%, a nice middle ground for both the Auraxii and Dectrose. The ship was met a single guard and a 'smiling' envoy who waited patiently, albeit with some minor visibility in breathing the thick air.
The diplomat was in a vibrant uniform of the diplomatic corps, a real trimmed with cloth of silver. Under one arm was a data pad while the other offered a friendly wave.
Going over his gauges a second time, the pilot leaned over his seat, allowing Kenny to see the thumbs up he gave. Kenny then inhaled, holding it in for a moment, mentally bracing himself for the task ahead, and tapped the console to open the doors. Sliding apart from the middle out to the sides, the doors let out a gush of air, mixing in with the climate-controlled air the Auraxii so generously adapted for the Dectrothian. Stepping out of the bulky shuttle, he stepped to face the lizard-like diplomat, and gave a salute "Diplomat Jones Kenny, at your service, It's a pleasure to be here with you."
There was a sort of genuine tone to his voice, almost fatherly as he thanked the Auraxii, he had the eyes of a parent as well, a sort of deep caring that one would only receive upon raising a family. For now though, Kenny had to direct that same level of genuine gratitude and caring towards the Auraxii, after all, the trade with Trudchen had been helpful in the past few weeks with the rapid-fire incidents that plagued the Dectrose, and inflamed certain parts of the military into a readiness not seen since the declaration of war on the Meralis the previous time.
He shook this off, he wasn't here for any other reason than to make closer ties with the Auraxii, any political gains where a side effect to his visit, but there where expectations set on him, and he was sure to meet them. "Now then, where will we be hosting this meeting? I don't think I've ever done a diplomatic mission at a picnic before." He gave a soft chuckle, the joke he hoped would ease the air a little. "Though I must say, the scenery would be nice to view over a picnic."
The envoy smiled, we'll as best as a four eyed raptor could, "Ambassador Kenny, welcome to Kree. I am Commodore Treesk. Retired, of course." He offered his free hand. "It's not quite a picnic but the dome we have selected does offer a pleasant view of the coast. We have also laid out a small buffet of foods that have been cleared for your digestion.. so picnic is more appropriate of a word than you'd think." He chuckles, a guttural sound more reminisce of a growling animal.
"It's trust your journey was uncomplicated given the galactic... events?"
With a smile sweeping over his pale face, he took the Auraxii's hand in his own, giving it a firm shake. "I see, I see, then this will be a first for myself." Though soon his contagious smile dropped a slight bit, a look of some concern rippling across his face "Well, the Dectrose aren't a stranger to turmoil and hardship, though these last events have left us.. feeling vulnerable. Between the betrayal of a close ally and the subsequent destruction of an entire world, and the strongarm tactics of the BSO working in league with the AGA, there is much to be worried of at late. But that is part of the reason I am here, to seek out and help our neighbors in their time of need, so that they may choose to help us in the future, but I also hear through the Koliakvine that the Auraxii have had some troubles of their own." Kenny inquired.
Indeed, the sensor stations on the rim of Imperial space had detected a large influx of ships departing the Auraxii space, towards where their Triarch advisors had told them in not-so-many words that APP worlds resided, there was no use trying to gain much else from them, as the Ancnet spiraled with details and rumors and accusations from both sides. Though to the Dectrose's shock, from the direction of the Unanimity, a fleet was detected going into Auraxii space. This greatly worried Bohler and the other admirals, knowing that the power bloc that had been prodding and strongarming the Empire had friends to the south of them, a neighbor no less.
Of course, as the usual practice of the Empire had called for, contingency plans that had been put away from Saber's time where pulled up and readied, should the AGA ask the Unanimity to step in and try the same with the Dectrose as the BSO before them. There had been enough pushing and threatening from the AGA, the Dectrose had warned them already, but the bloc refused to listen or where simply ignorant of the diplomacy and warnings to stop such actions. The Empire had fully moved to support the APP powers, and with one here, in the Palar Rift, they wished to see if they could lend a more helping hand. If not, there would be other things that could be done to ensure that their neighbor was fully prepared for any eventuality.
Treesk guided Kenny through the lavish compound, fine carved oak walls with brass and cobalt trim with fine fur carpeting. The ceiling was partial glass allowing a grand view of the sky above.
After several twists and turns they arrived in a large dome of a room with a lovely beachside view.
Along the room were couches, holos, tables large enough to fit a dozen men, and a long piping hot buffet table with various mixed cuisines.
"Aye. We have. We've been held under blockade at the world of Jenga and diplomatic talks have begun to withdraw from the APP in light of the recent... events. The AGA has entered negotiations for non aggression pacts and trade. As well as protection in the even of an APP retaliatory strike to our withdraw."
The Dectrothian diplomat surveyed the scene, stopping to taste some of the refreshments, and to take a seat with the Auraxii representative. He drank a little bit of some odd colored juice, and simply sat there in silence, his hand pulling out an RAVD node and turning it on, a computer-like interface spread before him as he kept his eyes on the other, holding the silence for a few moments.
.
.
.
"So, you're under blockade by the AGA, at one of your planets, and they have pushed the Auraxii around without firing a single shot, and made demands that you withdraw from the APP. A power bloc that can likely send forces to defend your planets, but due to your neighbor's intervention, they have strongarmed and defeated your nation, once again, without firing a shot. But you still believe they will help you after all is said and done? Pardon me if I am rude, but does that not sound dishonorable for warriors like the Auraxii to be defeated by a single blockade?"
He gave a concerned gaze towards the beaches "Do you think they would protect these vistas if the APP came in with their full force? I would ask of you a favor, if I may, and that would be to not let this small event break down the reputation of your fighting forces, by allowing the AGA to step over you and force your surrender like this. If you allow this to happen, what's to say that another nation might see you as weak and attack? Seeing the bountiful trade and strength your nation is capable of, I simply wish that you would change your mind. Though, I can assure you that if you require more proof of what the AGA is fully capable of, and what they have already done, I can provide them."
With a wave of his hand, he readied several documents for transfer, keeping his gaze locked to the lizard's four eyes "I'm not saying these things to bring you deeper into trouble, but what are the long-term afflictions you will suffer as a cause of this? Regardless of the Unanimity's intervention, I believe if you plant your feet and remain steadfast in your confidence of your military forces, you can weather many storms, if they even choose to try and assault you, which in my opinion seems unlikely with current events." Kenny leaned a little closer, as if to tell a secret "I came here to discuss the strengthening of the bond between our nations, but that bond is meaningless if there is no solidarity. The Empire seeks to support our friends that belong in the APP, any way we can."
"The APP is falling apart at the seams" Treesk replies calmly before taking a sip of a clear liquid. "Between the losses at Crucible and Rubikon, and the losses of hundreds if not thousands of vessels, the APP forces will be unable to, and already are unable to, defend their own territory. This will likely result in losing dozens of systems in a short amount of time."
He was very calm as he lit an Auraxii-friendly pipe. "The entire EPA fleet went AWOL and Eos was destroyed. The Accord have left and they are one of our closest allies."
The smoke coming from the pipe smelled faintly of cinnamon. "On top of which we have reason to believe that the Capital's economy is failing. Trade has becoming increasingly expensive and our merchants report net losses."
His four eyes stare. It may seem threatening but that is just the way the Auraxii look. "Our.. withdrawal is an honorable one. We maintain our military strength and keep our empire intact. The unconditional surrender that would follow if we stayed in the APP would dismantle all we have worked to build."
He listened, nodded and kept quiet as the other spoke, hearing what the other wanted to say about all of it, and once done, he waved his hand and the documents slid back into their respective folders. Interlocking his fingers, he tapped them a bit on his chin, and then gave his reply "I see, it would seem that the Dectrose have a more.. Positive outlook for the APP. Crucible and Rubikon may break the APP's back, but as the Dectrose people usually are, we refuse to believe that it is the end of that bloc. Though if the APP happen to rebound, I would simply ask you to keep an eye open."
He stopped for a moment, taking a moment to collect his thoughts "As they say, 'The one who falls and gets up is much stronger than the ones who never fell at all'. The Dectrose have learned this well in the last few weeks. But I know I won't sway you if you have made your mind already, so onto the rest of my business." Kenny shifted a little, sipping on the juice he was nursing, and exhaled a little.
"Now, as bountiful as our trade has been, we want to know if there was any room for more available between us, specifically any sort of exotic materials, resources or luxury items. The Dectrose are quite xenophilic and wish to experience other culture's exotics or luxury, not to mention some possible tourism to worlds such as this." He looked about, to emphasize his point. "So Treesk, what can we open up between us for trade and services?"
"I believe my government would be likely open to trades of good and services. Companies perhaps, free travel." He gives a slight shrug.
"I think that would be the fastest way to do a far-reaching exchange." It seemed to make sense to the Auraxii, after all corporations that spread across borders did awfully well.
"Perhaps even proper embassies would be a solid foundation to build closer diplomacy?"
Giving a nod, happy to hear that the Auraxii would look forward to more trade, and the mention of an embassy was even better news, this way, the Dectrose could further solidify their diplomatic options in the local area. "I can personally see to it that an Embassy is built for the Auraxii, as well as more clearances for the Dectrothian Customs and Immigration department to allow you further options in trade for goods. Heimdall also may contact you in the future if they like what they see in the Auraxii's domain, so keep an ear open for that."
He finished his refreshment, swirling the last bit of remaining fluid around the bottom of the glass, before setting it down, and moving his fingers around in a calculated manner, going through the clearances and such for the embassy and for the trade, before the RAVD node presented the lizard-like representative with a holographic document "Here's a document for the embassy and the trade agreements, if you would be so kind." He extending his hand to the hologram, it was made so that input could be made with a pen, a finger or and other utensil.
Treesk, with only hesitation to read the holo, signed with his lizard claw. "I feel this is the beginning of something productive. When we signed something similar with the Accord our industry boomed with the new imports and goods." The lizard nodded and the frills on his head stood up proudly.
"What of medical technology? With immigration it would benefit both of us to know how to treat one another. We Auraxii are hardy and can survive most extremes. We cam build buildings and bio dome apartments for your people but I would be loathe if anything happens and we cannot treat them."
Raising a single brow, Kenny remarked "Medical technology? The Dectrose are augmented in such a way that we can handle most illnesses, diseases or physical trauma. All we would really require is an ample supply of water, and nanites, if you have them. Though I think Immigration of the Dectrothian people might take a little more time. After all, while we enjoy xeno culture, we are slow to migrate over to another area." Resting his hand on his side, he continued.
"Though, I think with this document signed, we are all set and my business on behalf of the Dectrose Empire is concluded, unless you have something else to add?"
With nothing to add, Treesk shook Kenny's hand and said his goodbyes, hoping to hear from him again in the future and in more favorable circumstances than that which they where in now. As Kenny left, he took a look around at the beauty of the planet, taking it in and thinking how nice it would be to take a vacation here. The food was nice, so where the drinks and the vistas. Yes, soon enough he'd like to come back once work settled down. Goto watched from his observation bridge as Kenny's shuttle ascended up to his ship, taking it into the docking bay, giving his salutations to the Auraxii representatives and warped out of the system, soon leaving the beautiful planet behind them as they went to file their reports.
