DGN Reporter Maria Reiter had been busy of late reporting on the cyber-terrorist attack on Uproth, there was several questions, and currently not enough answers about the incident, other than the planet's damage was deemed irreparable. The entire planet was abandoned, and there was an ongoing cleanup process that had been quarantined in fear of any potential traps left behind by the Black Sun Organization. In all, Uproth was written off the map, and it had been a twinge of pain to those that had not forgotten the destruction of Kaikoma not too long ago. Though as big news as it had been, the RSC had finally released the officers of the 'Wyvern' from Admiral Ryn's failed exploration expedition.
She jumped on the chance to try and grab a statement from any of the officers, waiting with others at the terminal where they departed from the shuttlecraft, Reiter pushed forward through the crowd, and managed to ask a question in the myriad of others being asked simultaneously. Former ISF XO Winston stopped long enough to listen, whereas Reiter stated the question again "XO Winston, where you treated with respect by the RSC? The current state of affairs as well as the events of Uproth has left the Dectrose-AGA relationship shaken to it's core, has this effected your stay and is this the reason you have been released?"
The RAVD drone tried to keep itself stabilized as it tried to get close enough for his statement, Winston pausing to think for a moment "I can say that our confinement by the RSC was hospitable, our needs where taken care of in a timely manner. As for the reason we have been released at this time, I have no comment." Winston gave a short nod, his eyes gazing over the crowd before continuing, it was no secret that Winston and the other officers where on their way to speak in front of the Admiralty Board to explain what exactly happened, and why it wasn't defused. Reiter had already seen the ANC coverage on the subject, and knew Winston likely stood no chance of retaining his position in the ISF.
Her suspicions had been correct, and Winston was guilty of the charges that had been lined against him, he chose to serve his sentence in the Corsairs, rather than in the prison system on Alqursan. The other officers where cleared of any charges, as Winston took all blame for the event following Ryn's death. They where then split up and assigned to different ISF ships, the CMO requesting to be stationed to the Vexation to serve under Grayson Bradley, who was temporary acting captain of the ship until Admiral Timmer's return.
Reiter sat in the Board Room for a large majority of the sentencing, recording it for DGN and making it publicly available for those wishing to know what happened to Winston, but bigger news stories where likely coming soon, and Winston would likely be forgotten in light of other galactic events.
