With the DDE-IRS-RD meetings concluded the next step was a fairly logical one. The argument for why the situation in the west was untenable was very clear. For the most part the news media took the 'leaked' sensor logs, footage and other information and presented it with surprisingly little editing. This of course was compared to how sensationalized the WRL Hearing was cut into soundbites and clips so that vacuous talking heads could argue whatever positions they held for that minute. There was more to do in preparation for the inevitable outbreak of full hostilities in the west. While the Davians reached out to whomever would listen, the Dominion filed it's situation reports to the AGA's member nations covering in detail the events that occurred during the mission at Zaingraf. In the interim, military drills were held between the RD and DDE to prepare and tactical plans were assembled for the most probable eventualities... al that was left was to actually talk to the two nearest other AGA members to see if they thought the same way and if so, what if anything they might consider doing. That was where the Holo-conference of mid 2138 AEC came in....
=============================================================[Cycle: 01]
[Davia]
"Communication links initiated."
The mechanical voice announced as sector commander Kia, overall commander of Davian 19th sector sat behind his desk. On his left and right sat Gold and Green, his two second in charge who would assist him in this holo conference.
"Communication link established with outer communication ring. Communication established with our friends. We're waiting for their respond. It's times Kia."
"Very good. Now we just have to wait for the other to attend. Let hope they will listen to this."
"A troubled man should try to talk with as many people as possible for advices and help Kia."
"Indeed Green, indeed."
As the Davian's leaders talked with the other, their secured communication would be sent from Voi con toward the early warning ring of the Davian's holding which in turn would be sent to the receivers.
[RSC]
The Restevians had responded to the request for a holo-conference with some hesitation, as the RSC had a great deal in the immediate galaxy to deal with and with the offensives in Capitol space, the turnover of commanders from Admiral Tchaikovsky to Marshal Brelkov, various other operations and everything else happening. There really wasn't much reason to answer the call, but word had come down the line that two AGA powers were answering, so they answered too.
Admiral Tchaikovsky was on the way out and had a week or so before he officially stepped down, but he answered the call and when the link opened he sat at his desk with the flags of the RSC and the RSCN behind him, fingers meshed and his uniform spotless. The thing was that the admiral looked his 113 years, tired and exhausted.
"Greetings, comrades." he nodded.
[Dominion]
The Dominion's command relayed the communications request to ANAT and then finally to the personal communications line of Vice-Admiral Taravis aboard the RDNS Baltimore. The new ship was meant as a replacement for the older RDNS Solai which despite its toughness and the crew's efforts was being towed back to Dominion territory to be assessed in full to see if the vessel could be returned to service given the extensive damage it suffered. The Baltimore however was a Burlington class and aside from being a larger much less cramped vessel...it had a lot more to offer in a fight than the Gloucester class did. Vice-Admiral Taravis, didn't mind the change but like every commander who had spent most of their past career aboard a single vessel it was a bit sad to see the Solai be towed off and he genuinely hoped that if the ship could not be salvaged that it would not be scrapped...maybe used as a museum ship. When the message indicating the Davians wanted to have a holo-conference came up it was a welcome distraction from the difficulties that his command was facing at the moment. Taravis opened the line and set the encryption of reception and transmission so that no interlopers could gain any tangible information from his end of the joint transmission. As soon as the line was verified as secure Taravis stepped forward into the communications holo tank which allowed his likeness to be represented at all other parts of this meeting and likewise so too would all the other representatives be holographically rendered for him to see.
"The Dominion bids all of you good will in this conversation."
[NE]
The request from Davia to holo-conference was received within Nuclean space, and routed to the Office of the Overseer for allocation to the Diplomacy secretary. Or at least that's what normally would have been done, if Stellios himself had not noticed the incoming message and decided to take the call himself.
He accepted the channel, sending back a life size color hologram of himself sitting in his chair, wearing the blue armor robes with chrome chest plate that he favored, while smaller holograms of those present were displayed for him above his desk. Viewing the other participants, he gave a polite nod, "Greetings to those present"
===============================[Cycle: 02]
[Davia]
"Honored friends and comrades." Kia spoke as the 3 holo images of the RD, RSC and Nuclean popped up in front of him: "It's my honor to meet you in this holo-conference. If you may aware, we are here today to discuss an important matter which is the security of the Western part of the galaxy as well as those threatening it. It is in my humble opinion the security of the west is something important for us all as we ourselves and the Dominion is are located in the west while Restavian and Nuclean are next door. Unfortunately, gentlemen, the situation in the west is not as smooth as it should be. There're several threats and potential threats, should these threats be left unchecked, they may grow over time and threaten not only this region but may also affect the greater galaxy. Anyway, I think it would be better to let Vice-admiral Taravis here to explain it better. I hope that both RSC and Nucleans have already received our reports?"
[Dominion]
Admittedly Vice-Admiral Taravis wasn’t exactly expecting to have to do an intelligence briefing this soon, but of course the information was close at hand and in recent memory. “I will open this by saying that the situation in the west is deteriorating but, it is not doing so at the rate that the second galactic war is. This said it may be the new battle front especially if in worst case scenario, the APP recruits a short list of nations that have characteristics that match the normalized policy of the APP. In the last report to the AGA filed by the Dominion, which was just a few weeks prior to this meeting we covered the increase in aggression by the Vaanitas Supremacy, the potential for aggression by their seeming ally the Cricaen Kingdom and the utter treachery of the Ancient Ones. There is also a threat assessment of all the aforementioned and one for the Three Domains Alliance, whose true motives have become suspect in the wake of the hearing.” With a gesture, an up-to-date compiled copy of all western regional status reports would be made available to all participants in the holo-conference as a digital file. “The problem we face here is that in a worst-case scenario; should the two most likely candidates for APP membership sign up, it will only be a matter of time before capitol catches on that the west has vast unclaimed resources and they opt to utilize that to recover their heavily damaged economy. This outcome will result in either an extension of the second galactic war or a brief lull and then a third galactic conflict that the galaxy may not survive. Either outcome should be prevented before they have a chance to begin.”
[RSC]
"And all this has been confirmed?" Tchaikovsky asked, rubbing his chin. "I need you to realize comrades, as much as I don't want to see the Second Ancerious War extend any longer than it has, most of my naval forces have been tied up in defensive and offensive operations against the APP in the east."
[NE]
Stellios glanced at the documents that had been sent, having read most of them already when they had first been sent out, assisted in this process by his secretary AI, which pointed out important things.
He then addressed Admiral Taravis "This turn of events is indeed concerning, especially due to the offensive actions of the Vanitaas against an AGA member without provocation."
===============================[Cycle: 03]
[Davia]
"Yes comrade Tchaikovsky. I can clarify that Vice Admiral Taravis's report is the true. The engagement in Zaingraf had showed the aggressiveness nature of both Vannitas Supremacy and Cricaen Kingdom as well as the traitorous nature of the Ancient Ones. On our part, Zaingraf was only the second time we Davian met the Vannitas, yet they open fired again us unprovoked and without any attempt to communicate. Worse they targeted our civilian ship first and subjected it with heaviest fire. Then when we denounced their crime the Cricaen immediately sided with the aggressors and attempted to attack us, even escape pods and shutters were targeted. Then when we retaliated the Ancient Ones showed their true color. In case of the Ancient One here's what they announced. Gold please bring it up."
“To the commander of the Davian forces. We do not care for how you see us, you are basics and are beneath us. As such we do not care for such concepts as reputation or betrayal, we are above such ideas.”
Kia continued after the message was replayed: "I think it's not necessary to comment about this. So these threats are very real and we may have to deal with it sooner or later. Beside our concerns were shared by the IRS in our last meeting and the IRS had agreed to deploy their military forces within Davia's territories to assist our effort."
[RSC]
"Again I must point out comrades, that the RSC's navy is either tied down or undergoing repairs." Tchaikovsky stated. "I am willing to do what I can to aid the Nucleans and the Dominion in a joint operation to ensure things on the galactic stage remain stable, but as much as I'd like to provide a full battlegroup I'm not sure it'll be possible."
[Dominion]
“I will attest right here and now to the fact that in the three prior encounters with the Vaanitas all under the Aegis of the WRL they proved to be paranoid, very prone to violence and rather territorial. At Zaingraf the Dominion was only present because the message sent out could have arguably been interpreted as a distress call and it was sent at FTL speed from a pre-FTL culture.” Vice-Admiral Taravis made the after-action reports of Commodore Oluchi the CO of the recon group at Zaingraf and of group #4 during the stellar cartography mission near Vaanitas space available to all present digitally. “As you can see even from the scan logs in the reports, the Vaanitas are dangerous because of how quickly they resort to violence instead of a rational peaceful behavior. Likewise, that recording of the Ancient Ones is a very clear indicator of how well we as nations can trust them to uphold agreements.”
[NE]
Stellios considered the information "We do not approve of wantonly resorting to violence in this manner, especially against our allies. Furthermore, if they are now not only firing upon your ships but threatening a full invasion, then action is required to counteract this threat and keep the situation from devolving and making the current galactic war worse"
===============================[Cycle: 04]
[Davia]
"On our part. We are glad that you had listened to us and willing to help." Kia responded calmly: "For the invasion mister Stellios, it's unfortunately that it's almost inevitable according to our concern. The Ancient One was the traitor of WRL thus they have knowledge about the location of Voi Con, our primary trade system. With this turn of event they would probably leak this information for the Vannitas and Cricaen and with their aggressive nature, full invasion is something obvious. The only bright side of this is. The Ancient One while knowing about the location had never actually set foot on this system, their betrayal had also happened well before we made any join defensive plan and we Davian had only submitted the location of this system to WRL as a whole. So if there would be an invasion then Voi Con is the most obvious target."
He then turned to Tchaikovsky: "Comrade Tchaikovsky. I understand your problem yet I still want to thank you again for your willing to help. Anyway any help from the RSC would be very welcome as we suspect that our enemies may have a rather large number and as people said, the more the better."
[RSC]
"Indeed not." Tchaikovsky put in, nodding. "That is an action that has caused far more pain than promise in the past, and I'll bring it up to Brelkov to send aid. While it won't be a lot, I will provide what I can."
[Dominion]
Vice-Admiral Taravis nodded in understanding of what the RSC representative was saying. After all there was one hell of butcher’s bill after the end of hostilities at Rubikon and the Crucible. “I understand your situation, you are not the only one I for one had a very difficult time convincing the high command to move the assets they did after the losses sustained at the Crucible. That said, anything you can do in the short term will be welcome, after all, as proven at Rubikon, every little bit helps because that does eventually add up.”
[NE]
"We will provide assistance" Stellios replied "While things have transpired that discredit the Davians somewhat, as I have said we do not approve of others wantonly invading other nations in this manner"
===============================[Cycle: 05]
[Davia]
Kia smiled as the Davian's request for supported was listen by several factions: "Gentlemen, Davia owe you for your assistance. You're willing to help us in the times of need despite having other problems yourselves. Because of your assistant we Davian would consider your factions as our allies and would provide any help we can for your war effort. Yes indeed we are facing invasion ourselves and may not be able to provide much military support until these problems were contended yet we still can provide you with other forms of support like increasing trading, economic or technology support… "
With the DDE-IRS-RD meetings concluded the next step was a fairly logical one. The argument for why the situation in the west was untenable was very clear. For the most part the news media took the 'leaked' sensor logs, footage and other information and presented it with surprisingly little editing.
