"No Ma'am, nothing, you want me to try again?" The Comms Officer said over his shoulder towards Grand Admiral Terri, who tried to contact the Alfurians to schedule another diplomatic mission. After Drol, Terri had felt that several issues, most of all including the veiled threat against the Oracle, as well as dealing with the aftermath of Saber's usage of such against the Artificia needed to be gone over again. But as of yet, there was nothing, silence and waiting.
Terri sighed out, tapping the Comms Officer on the shoulder "Try again, if there's still nothing, I authorize for a small probe to be sent out to investigate, this matter is.. concerning." She looked down into her cup, now empty, and nodded to the bridge "You have your orders, I shall return shortly." Once again, the Comms Officer opened a channel "This is the Dectrose Empire, trying to contact anyone in command of Alfur, please respond." Nothing, again, he waited, and spoke again "This is the Dectrose Empire, Grand Admiral Terri requests a meeting regarding the events of the previous diplomatic mission, please respond." Silence.
Sitting back, he let out a quiet sigh, then contacted Terri "Nothing Ma'am, I'm dispatching the probe now." Minutes later, the probe dropped from the 'Hana's Solace', jumping into FTL, then dropping out into unclaimed space nearby the Dirge's territory. Using the coordinates gained from Goto's time at the Amalgam, to pull up a vague path, the probe set out on it's journey, traveling in an attempt to find the Alfurian's system, one which they had kept secret, but now it was necessary to try to find out why they where silent.
After several days, the probe came across Ventellious. The system was empty, there wasn't any life, nor any sign of the strange particle they called sovex. The message came back to Terri, informing her of the Alfurian's disappearance from the galaxy. She ordered the probe to then establish an orbit over the planet, and gather information on still existing structures, and the state of the planet. Once satisfied with the information, she informed both Powell and Landow of the situation, and they suggested to let DRI comb over it, which she suggested that the Admiralty Board go over to determine if they should, with the thin line they're walking with CORE.
Terri sighed, feeling a slight bit of relief that the Alfurians would no longer be an issue of the Dectrose's progress in the galaxy, and that they will feel less pressure from CORE about their past.
