It had been some time since Morgan had last seen Crove, but she had a good feeling about him, something about his manners, his stature, his expressions. So when it came across the wire on Trudchen that they wished to have an update on how the Three Domain's Alliance was doing and if they would be ready for the public opening of trade routes, she jumped at the chance. For those that knew her, it was odd behavior. Usually she was reluctant, snarky, even disdainful. But something clicked to Morgan about these people, and soon enough, the 'Ruinous Covet' undocked, aimed out of the system, and jumped out, taking a long, almost boring trip to the TDA's borders.
Interrupting the silence, Morgan's ship burst inside a system on the border of their territory, Morgan ordering her Comms Officer to contact the TDA on established frequencies. All that was left was to wait, her metallic feet tapping harshly, echoing in the bridge and causing some of the newer members of the bridge crew to wince.
The initial arrival of the Dectrose ship was met with surprise by the TDA detection crews but after a moment they verified the IFF of the incoming ship. The ship was quickly granted clearance and given instructions to dock with Void Rock six station. Crove who had been recently recalled to assist with the WRL formation and instituting it into future TDA diplomatic plans was alerted to the situation. He left what he was doing to tend to the Dectrose arrival, he was chosen over the other diplomats present as he was the one who established initial diplomatic relations with the Dectrose. He headed down to the docking bay to await the arrival of his guests. Unlike the ones on a star ship the docking areas on Void Rock six were large enough to support the connection of all docking tubes present on ships up to a certain length. Along with him was a full honour guard of forty marines to welcome their guests and show them proper respect.
Her arms crossed as the 'Ruinous Covet' glided into place, and she tapped her leg on the floor twice, her two guards and two Cabals walked briskly to her, as the comms officer instinctively set up docking procedures and nodded to Morgan, who, with another harsh tap of her foot, left the bridge to take herself and her guard to the docking bay. The trip for Morgan was short, she was reading up on the current information on the TDA, and she was slightly content with the information. Soon enough she'd get the answers she needed, as the door opened and she stepped out onto the ramp.
To say she was relieved so see Crove again was an understatement, she was actually glad for once to see someone, but with the pressing thoughts on her mind, she kept a poker face, the armored dogs that made up the Cabals kept a close perimeter around Morgan, looking around with an unnerving and unnatural level of intelligence for a dog, seeming to take in numbers of guards, their weapons, etc. As she closed on on Crove, she spoke "Hans Crove, I see that the Three Domain's Alliance has a vested interest in keeping things quite efficient." she gave a curt salute, her icy blue eyes locked on Crove.
“Morgan what a surprise to see you again.” Crove repaid the salute back as the honour guard came to attention.
“Well things seemed to get much more interesting now. Come we’ll head to one of the conference rooms. As they left the docking bay area the honour guard dismissed themselves.
Crove escorted Morgan to one of the smaller conference rooms on the station. Once inside Crove pulled a chair out for Morgan to sit on before seating himself on the other side of the table.
“So tell me, what brings you to our humble abode today” Crove said as he pulled a cigar from his jacket pocket.
She returned her hand to her side, eyeing over Crove. "Quite elaborate, but unneeded. While I appreciate the gesture from a formal perspective, these men could be doing much needed work for the plans I will discuss today. She gathered an RAVD node from her pocket, taking a moment to look at a Cabal that was looking at her until it looked away, then set it on the table. Flicking her hair to one side, her beautiful blonde hair looked as if it was made of silk, her presence was demanding, and her attitude to the point, but still, she was a sight to behold.
Her lungs shifted to filter out the cigar smoke, not that it bothered her, she just set her augmented lungs to filter out all particles she didn't need to survive. She tapped the node and it lit up, before displaying a few security features that unlocked for Morgan, she looked up with her crystal blue eyes "Now, Crove. I believe we discussed trading agreements and technology in our prior visit. But there was also the possibility of a joint project, one unique to the Dectrose and TDA."
She brought up a few datapads, some with large blank spaces "This is a form for Trade Agreements, please fill out what you'd like from the Dectrose from the available list of materials, and also fill out what youa re able to export in your trade to the Dectrose." She pulled out another from the small stack "This here is for a Joint Project Agreement, the Dectrose would be happy to assist you in an area you think needs the most work. I'll let you go over those before moving on." She tapped her foot on the floor once, her eyes never leaving Crove.
Crove studied the trade agreement sheet carefully for a few moments before filling it out. The materials he chose to take off the Dectrose were ones the TDA were short of at this point in time and in return he gave the Dectrose materials they seemed to be lacking as well. He had another drag of cigar before taking a look at the joint project document. After reading it through he looked back at Morgan.
“Well it’d be selfish just improve an area we have shortcomings in so how about we work together on something that benefits both parties equally. I’m sure you have area where you’d like to improve?”
She nodded, and spoke bluntly "We definitely need an upgrade to our Carrier Operations, the Fighters, Bombers and Torpedo Bombers we have available. It's honestly a pity to watch, we barely use our Carriers." Activating her RAVD Node, she sent the data of what needed upgrading to Crove, of course, she trusted him with such data, and she watched him with a close eye, as if studying him in detail.
Giving the information that that Morgan gave him a through look it was at this time that the old habits of a pilot came back to him. He was checking dimensions, mass, acceleration, armour, shields and weapons. Looking through he saw the bombers that Morgan mentioned, he remembered when the TDA’s own bombers were phased out and they switched to multi role fighter craft. While not as effective as dedicated bombers they still did the job.
“Yes this’ll work. We’re always in the market to improve our fighter capabilities so combining both of you know how to this project will yield great results.” He said signing the Joint project agreement.
She gave a small smile, Crove always seemed good at business, and she admired that. All too often there was pleasantries and chatting and off-topic conversations to try to "lighten the mood" or "be friendly". She took both of the signed agreements, and tapped her RAVD node, before signing them as well and the information sent to Decoroso, finalizing and establishing it into place. Her smile faded though, as she thought about the next few things she had in mind, Decoroso Command likely wouldn't have asked for things so quickly, it was against their idea on how to run things.
The Dectrose naturally don't offer much at first, wanting to feel out the person in order to know if they'd be a good match for the Dectrose and their allies. It was almost like a game of Treikarta, you needed to make sure all the cards in your hand matched up and went well together before you had to play your hand. Moreso in galactic politics, where the hand you have might either save you or destroy you. The stakes where high, and Morgan knew the galaxy wasn't going to stand idly by as the Dectrose made themselves a bigger part of it.
So, she took a chance, and beckoned Crove to come closer, as if she was preparing to tell a secret, or didn't want to be overheard by anyone that may have been prying. It was definitely something out of the ordinary, but as far as Crove and Morgan where, both had began to develop a close partnership.
“You know if this is going to be confidential we can move this to a room that isn’t under surveillance?” Crove stayed where he was to hear Morgan’s answer. He felt a sudden tension in the room as he did. He was completely unsure where this next part of the meeting would go.
She looked at him, a gaze that could cut him in half, and then around this room "If you believe that certain things involving diplomacy cannot be kept from foreign powers, then by all means, lead the way." She knew that these next questions might make Crove uncomfortable, it might put him in a tight spot, but from what she had seen from him thus far, she believed he was the type to be able to take the heat. After all, Dectrose-TDA relations counted on some under-the-table discussions and agreements, much like the Tyberous Agreement had been between the Meralis and Dectrose.
This time, there would be no war or hostile action, costing the lives of billions, no wars spanning across several planets, no massive fleet battles against one another, more simply, an offer. An offer to be more than what they where currently, something that their connections couldn't give them, and the reliability of a strong supporter on their side. Morgan felt, even with the political moves in the galaxy, Crove would be the man to talk to about this.
"Alright if you'll follow me then" Crove said to Morgan as he walked towards the door and opened it for her.
Crove then led her down a few levels deeper into Void Rock Six station until they came to another conference room. This one however wasn't as brightly lit and lacked the decorations of the main one. It also had something that was so far unseen, armed guards outside of the door clad in full combat power armour and armed with rifles. Crove ushered Morgan into the room and once again pulled a chair out for her before being seated himself.
"This room actively blocks all wireless transmissions and is free of any internal surveillance devices. So anything said in this room stays here. So what is it we need to talk about in such privacy." Crove said as he smiled
She took her seat, leaving her own guards outside and looked into Crove's eyes with a freezing, icy stare "I'll get right to the business I actually came for. The Dectrose are seeing some political waves in the galaxy, and while our enemies and allies get more people to assist them, we have none. I'm aware that Vibius is trying to butter the Accord, but they alone cannot help against a combined and focused force, which is what we need more than research projects and pleasant gifts. Bohler was speaking to the Admiralty Board about finding potential people to ally with and invite them to an alliance dedicated to the defense of our borders and our planets, a so-called 'Free Defense Council'."
"While you don't have to immediately join, the less time we take to gather our forces, the better all the members are prepared for an attack, as well as a higher number of nations in an alliance to dissuade enemies of us and to hold a more firm grasp on Galactic politics. Soon, the General will be replaced by the Diplomat, and we can expand and grow without fear. Is this something the Three Domains Alliance might be interested in?" She stopped, watching Crove with the eyes of a hawk, seeing his every move and expression.
Crove took several moment to dwell on this expression of interest. The TDA could always use more allies for both economic and military reasons.
"Of course we'd be very interested in joining your alliance. The points of it that you've told me so far are quite commendable." Crove said gleefully
Internally smiling, Morgan gave Crove a datapad, outlining the requirements of such an alliance. Both NAPs and MDPs where included from the start, as well as promises of further joint cooperation, economic stability, trading routes and secured Wormhole Gates that would combine several technologies of the member factions to have a secure mode of travel, as well as disallowing non-members from using such via IFF technology provided by the Dectrose. The FDC provided simple terms regarding the alliance, you may continue participation in any bloc you currently are allied with, as well as FDC. The FDC itself remaining completely neutral on the Galactic Stage, not itself allying with AGA or APP, but it's members can support either side.
In times of conflict, any FDC member can go either alone or with fellow FDC members, provided those members agree to such for any aggressive or offensive actions outside their territory. But all members are required to send aid, via political, military or civilian/medical if a member's borders are attacked or are facing invasion. That said, members will not be asked to take offensive action against other blocs if that member is active in FDC and in the target bloc.
Though it expressed that the FDC is not meant to become a purely military bloc, and that the primary goal is for economic purposes and galactic stability in the ever-fluid stance in Ancerious involving the major powers. Morgan simply waited now, for Crove to read over and sign it if he was truly interested.
Crove read through the data pad and then re-read it, making sure of what would be required of the TDA and what benefits it would gain from the FDC. The most interesting thing Crove saw was the connection of territories via wormhole gates. It was good to see that the Dectrose are putting them to good use already he thought to himself.
“You can count on full TDA support for the FDC. The terms here are most agreeable and align with TDA policy.” Crove told Morgan with a smile on his face.
Morgan nodded silently, and retrieved the datapad, tucking it away for now "Good, now there is some other business that we have to ask of you." She swiped the datapad and handed it to Crove "We would like to build a joint research station with the TDA in your territory, purely to assist with the joint projects we have. This will also grant you access to Frumentarii, a Dectrose planet dedicated to such efforts. As well as an Embassy, to ensure our communication with you is instantaneous in case there is an issue involving matters concerning the FDC or our relations. Is this acceptable?"
“Yes these terms are all acceptable and we can start having arrangements made as soon as possible. In return we would also like an embassy in your territory for instant contact on all FDC related matters and as a secondary point of contact for diplomatic meetings in the eastern part of the galaxy.”
"Of course, the Dectrose would likely have you begin an embassy at Trudchen for the moment. So if we are in agreeance, sign the datapad and we can discuss other topics." She crossed her legs and intertwined her hands with her elbows on the table, before resting her chin on her hands. It looked somewhat informal, but she was happy to have confirmed that Crove was a very good man to come to for these types of agreements.
Crove signed the datapad. He was excited to see another embassy established. Perhaps he would be assigned the official ambassador and he wouldn’t have to gallivant around the galaxy being bored out of his mind anymore.
“There you are all signed” he said handing the datapad back over to Morgan.
“Now what were these other topics you wished to discuss?”
She dropped her hands to the table "There is a slight issue with a faction called the 'Annointed', we believe that there is a civil war raging inside their faction and wish to side with the previous power that was in charge, though information is scarce. We would like to know if you wished to use this as the FDC's first combined venture into restoring a faction to a better stance, as well as possibly gaining another FDC member. You aren't required to, mind you, but we want to give you the offer regardless." She kept her cold, icy gaze on him, before continuing.
"As well, we are aware that a neighbor of yours in this region is the Divine Davian Empire, but so far they have proven untrusting and elusive." her expression changed to disgust for a moment "As well as wasting precious time on foolery and games, but we would like to know if there is any reasoning behind this. Why are they so distrustful? If they aren't, why do they appear to be with the Dectrose? Most importantly, we have scanned a system of theirs in order to ensure that the third set of coordinates was correct, but we detected a large fleet there. We are in the dark, Crove, so can you shed some light for us to better understand the Davians?"
“Well, for joining in on this civil war there’s not much I can do. However if you send us all the information about what’s going on exactly we can take it to a vote to see if we are allowed to intervene militarily. Now the Davians, I myself am not sure about them I’ve been assigned away from where they are so I can’t speak from personal experience. I can tell you about our dealing with them so far. I’ll bring them up now.” He said going through the holo terminal to bring up transcripts of the meetings with the Davians.
“As you can see they are nothing but friendly and straight forward to us. So I’m not certain with their intentions towards you. That system is the main staging ground and trade hub of the Davians so that explains the fleet.”
While she was slightly annoyed with the Davians slightly different treatment towards the Dectrose, she knew things would be settled before long. She added the transcripts of the meeting with the Davians to her RAVD Node, as well as to send Crove the full information that the Dectrose possessed on the Annointed Civil War, and the effort to restore them, including the participants involved. "I'm aware Rochelle is speaking to a BSO representative that has taken command of the forces to restore the Annointed, and Vibius is buttering up the Accord in order to get their support.. Which reminds me of something I need to do with the BSO 'Speaker'."
She looked up at Crove, almost a worried and concerned expression on her face "But it means nothing, strictly business, I have my interests elsewhere." To which she looked back down, but it was evident she was trying to conceal something. Immediately she switched the topic "Though in these Transcripts, I noticed the formation of the 'WRL' and someone who's known as the Risallas Dominion? What is the WRL about and what kind of people are the Risallas?"
“Ah yes the Risallas Dominion, a bit on the secretive side. But they have proven to be loyal steadfast allies so far. As for the Western Regional League, it was founded as a means of stability. You see out here in the western reaches and especially here in the Avarian Frontier there are no massive power blocs like in the east so it’s each to their own. So we founded WRL as a means of bringing people together and to segregate those who would only cause harm to others. It’s not military by nature it’s for mutual protection, trade and regional stability at its core.”
Morgan nodded at every point, then saying "So it's a more localized version of the FDC, but what is their stance on this galactic war that's raging in the east? As much as the FDC has it's eyes on AGA members, we wish to be impartial to the war for the most part. That's why we allow members to remain in their current blocs if they wish, with the added security of knowing they have allies willing to defend their borders."
“We have stance leaning more towards the AGA since one of our current members is also part of the AGA. It’d be a bit conflicting for someone to join the WRL and be on the opposite sides with other members. I mean why would you fight someone then suddenly make pact that involves them and next thing you know you have to put lives on the line to protect them.”
Giving a short nod, folding her hands together "That's reassuring, with all the trouble with AGA and diplomatic missions aimed at keeping them from becoming aggressive with the Dectrose, I'm pleased that we aren't stepping on any other toes. However, as we've said, the FDC wishes to remain impartial, and we have alternate ways of defending member territory and supporting those members via other means of economic support or sending diplomats to resolve the situation." Leaning back, she continued "That is why we have no concerns or issues with allowing anyone to join, regardless of allegiance. However, those that are against the wills of the members, conducting actions like slavery, genocide and extermination or mistreatment of prisoners will need a full review from all members before they are considered for approval."
“Good, that is something we can definitely get behind. Because frankly we will not stand with anyone who condones any form of slavery, genocide or piracy. To do so would be treason on our part and I’m pretty sure the government and the diplomatic corps in particular doesn’t want to march in front of a firing squad for such a crime.”
Morgan smirked, a crooked smile that displayed her deeper feelings on the matter. She had counted the Corsairs as nothing more than pirate scum, same with the Black Sail Organization.. she let her expression frown as she lingered on that thought, but she looked back up to Crove with the same freezingly cold expression in her eyes, and felt her hair slide in front of her eye. While the augmented AVDs in her eyes filtered it out, she still took a hand and pushed it to her ear, before continuing "Agreed, though I might need to sadly part ways from you soon, though please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any business with me, official or otherwise."
“Of course and feel free to reach out to me on official or unofficial channels as well.” Crove said as began to stand up.
“Well if you need to go allow me to escort you back to your ship”
With both of them walking together through the dimly lit halls of the station and through an elevator trip they returned back to the docking bay.
“Well Morgan it’s been a pleasure to see you again. I wish you good luck on your future endeavours and I hope that we can have another productive talk like today again.”
She looked back to Crove, flashing a smile "Likewise, I look forward to the future of our nations, and of our continued meetings."
Interrupting the silence, Morgan's ship burst inside a system on the border of their territory, Morgan ordering her Comms Officer to contact the TDA on established frequencies.
