While Rochelle wasn't 100% on what to expect, she had to put her trust into her job, and her contacts. So, opening the Comms at Trudchen, she sent out a request to Contact Broker Adi Mbauntuwe, in order to discuss some of the points concerning the Dectrose and what services they wanted done that they knew the BSO would be able to accomplish. So she sat in her office, turning her back to her computer and looking out at the sprawling city below her. While it was late at night, she could easily reverse the feed coming from the exterior AVDs in order to show a feed of the mid-day bustle, but she decided against it.
He had brought her mini-fridge with her through the wormhole, a relic of her first days in the acadamy, opening the door and hovering her feathered hand over the varied selection, grimacing as much as she was able to, she cursed her indecisiveness on her biology, and picked out a colorful colored can, popping it open with her beak and grabbing a long straw from the top of the fridge, sliding it in the hole and started drinking from it as she turned back to her computer.
It took several long minutes and numerous authentications before Rochelle finally made it through to Mbauntuwe's communicator.
"Allo bonjour?" A deep baritone answered from the other end of the communications line.
Her instincts kicked in naturally, her tongue shifting in her beak "Bonjour, bon monsieur, I am Nicolette Rochelle, Dectrose Diplomat, I have a few questions to ask you, as the Dectrose's new contact broker for the BSO. Do you have spare time at the moment?" She tapped an RAVD node near her to bring up the list that the Dectrose had, and knew that this might take a little while.
"It's contract broker. Not contact," Mbauntuwe corrected immediately. "You are the one Alison told me about I suppose. What is it specifically you are looking for?"
She nods and corrects herself "Sorry, Contract Broker. I'm just following up on BSO support for the War of Restoration, where we purge the RLDS from the Anointed and the cooperation to do such, minus the Corsairs. As well, we would like to know which Freeport to go to in order to purchase things for the Empire, unless you have a site we can use to do so as well. In the most basic way I can put it, we need to know some more of the basics for the BSO, and confirmation on the cooperative plan of attack."
"The war of restoration," Mbauntuwe answered. "Merde... that's not what we're calling it now is it? No that's not what we're calling it. Black Sail has committed 160 ships, five Subjugators, dozens of neuromancers, and more money than I care to count at the moment. Why don't we start with what exactly it is you intend to commit to this... endeavor,"
"That's what Decoroso Command wants to call it, sometimes naming events goes to their head." she sighed, and brought up the numbers "We'd be able to send off several Assault Fleets, likely 500-750 depending on who's available. Terri would be the Grand Assault Fleet Admiral of this attack, with Vibius as her second and Fischer as her third. As well as dedicated marines and ATAF forces."
"I want to make something very clear," Mbauntuwe interjected as soon as she had finished speaking. "The Dectrose Empire is on extremely thin ice with the Organization right now. The clones aren't the only ones who think you might have had something more to do with the clusterfuck on Freeport 21. Any forces you send will be under the command of Charlie and Reggie Arnott. They're the ones heading up this operation at the moment. You are on my team, you understand? I am not on yours."
Rochelle tapped on her desk "The Dectrose have their own things they're fighting for. I don't think Charlie and Reggie will be able to effectively command the Dectrose forces, much less take orders from Xenos whom they never met." She took a small drink "No, this isn't part of the agreement, and if you want to suspect that we had anything to do with it, then I'd ask that you look at the events happening and question what the Dectrose would even gain by taking you out of the picture."
She put her feathered wing on the desk "This is a Joint Operation, we are going to work together, if you don't trust us then what is the point of attempting to restore the Anointed if we're going to bicker and argue. The BSO has met Terri before, and you should know how she is when it comes to working with people. We can only win this by ensuring there will be ample communication and cooperation in all aspects of this conflict."
She poked the RAVD node as it began flashing for an Emergency Message, and read it over before hanging her beak open.
"I've never heard of Terri," Mbauntuwe answered simply. "And I would remind you that you came to us looking to join our operation. I have no intention of handing over command, partially or otherwise, to the Dectrose or anyone else for that matter. This is not a joint operation. This is my operation and you can either send forces to assist in any way the commanders I've already selected deem fit or you can start your own operation with none of the leads, contacts, or assets we've already accumulated."
He paused momentarily before continuing.
"Strategy and tactics are two entirely separate things. The twins will have first and last say on overall strategy, but battle tactics are not something they'll be dictating to anyone."
She waved her feathers around her dismissively almost "Alright then, these twins will have authority on the overall strategy of the campaign. I also believe that Skalia was the HVT that we needed to capture in order to establish some form of control again? Because if the Dectrothian Network is correct, then she's been sighted within the Dectrose Empire. RAVD Nodes on Kaikoma have spotted her entering a building in one of their cities." She jotted down some things and turned back to Adi "Are we going to launch a strike to reclaim her?"
"We're pursuing other leads," Mbauntuwe answered cryptically. "Skalia is not an operational HVT at present nor is she the target of the priority contract. What you do is up to you but given all I know of the Anointed I would say a strike at this time is... inadvisable,"
He trailed off an yawned.
"I'll patch through rendezvous coordinates for who ever you're sending but I prefer not to discuss details of a combat operation with non-combat personnel."
She nodded and swiped away the report, choosing to ignore it for now "If that's what you believe is the best coarse of action, it's perfectly fine with me. I'll be giving you contact information to Grand Assault Fleet Admiral Vanessa Terri, she'll be representing the Dectrose's interests both diplomatically and on the field. If you'd like, she's not currently engaged in any events, do you want me to patch you directly to her?"
"No. I'll discuss strategy in person only," Mbauntuwe answered. "Never know who's listening,"
Rendezvous coordinates came through a moment later.
"Is there anything else?" Mbauntuwe asked.
"Yes in fact there is, we'd like to avoid potential issues in the future regarding Freeports, and would like to both have the locations of Freeports available for the Dectrose to visit, and invite you to set one up near the Dectrose's borders in order to more effectively establish communication, business and better cooperation in the upcoming battles against the infected Anointed."
"And speaking of business, what can you offer in terms of services in detail? We wish to avoid making business on something the BSO finds uncomfortable, as well as the current lists of items you have procured for sale." She stopped there, parched now and finished her drink.
"You've been given the location of Freeport 21," Mbauntuwe answered simply. "At present it is the location best suited to addressing your needs. Any discussion on expanded Freeport access and construction projects near Dectrose space are best handled after the current crisis has been resolved,"
He paused momentarily before addressing the second question.
"Procurement lists will be given to Vanessa after I've met with her. This line isn't secure enough to be sending those kinds of information packets,"
She gave a quick nod, and sent the necessary information to Terri "Alright then, I think that'll be all for today, au revoir, monsieur Mbauntuwe."
