Exile- Exiled Eyes
Freeport 21 was still a mess. A couple weeks had seen the quarantine fully realized but Alison still had no way of determining who was and wasn't compromised. But that would be someone else's problem soon. After a lengthy argument with Wolfgang she had finally recieved assurances that he and the Syndicate would take over managing the lockdown, which left the Exile finally able to get back to her contracts.
Specifically the one with Dakel.
For the time being she waited aboard the Morrigan for the Prince to show up, but she had little doubt when he heard what she had to say they would be moving with all their forces.
Summons? Requested presence.
Dakel was not a pseudo-raptor to be called upon to serve. Ironically, that was exactly what he wanted; to be given a target by a higher power and to be sent after it.
This position of Exile was still new to him.
He docked with the Morrigan and made his way through the ship. If any eyes watched him, he took no notice of them. Alison had done something, or learned something. Her attitude had seen a noticeable shift, and he needed to know what had happened in her absence to require such immediate meeting.
-"Alison, I am on route. I trust this is important?"-
"Important enough that I'd only tell you in person," She answered on thr com as she finished making her tea.
The red head sat down in her decidedly cramped quarters and set the cup down in front of her. By the time Dakel arrived it had cooled enough for a first sip which she savored before setting the cup down and motioning for Dakel to take a seat across from her.
"How goes the war?" She asked finally.
The Echo sat across from the Exile, his hands clasped together over his lap as he relaxed if only for a second; the privacy of the meeting giving him some respite.
"Reports of Union forces aiding in the System purges, House War is discussing the Car'tule engagement with the Krovaedians, and AGA has decided to offer CORE a place among them."
Dakel looked at her; his eyes suggesting the trust he was putting in her. It was as much a threat as it was a gesture of friendship.
"If I was a fool, I would say it's going smoothly, but things will only get harder from here on out. Our time is limited."
Alison nodded and after abother sip of tea she stood and retrieved a file folder, passing it across the table to Dakel before sitting again.
"That's a report from one of our stations in the Invilis Corridor, near the golden expanse. There's a lot of signal interference out that way but..."
She flipped the folder open to page and smirked.
"They detected System activity. Can't say where or how much because of the interference but they were definitely there."
"Are you suggesting we look into this?"
The Prince looked over the folder, allowing his macrys to take notes on things he deemed appropriate.
"Could be worth it, if the rewards were worth it. Possible plunder, possible sabotage."
Dakel chuckled, now he had become the pirate.
"Could be something could be nothing," Alison answered with a shrug. "At the very least I would say its worth investigating. Head out run some scans and see what we can see."
"I will lead a team, take some stilettos out and see what we can find. If we find anything, the rest of the fleet won't be far off."
Dakel flexed his fingers, it had been far too long since he had done some proper stealth.
"Sounds like a plan," Alison said with a nod. "I've already got my forces moving in to the area so if you run into any trouble they can give you a hand. Once I transfer command of this stupid lockdown I'll join you."
Dakel nodded, standing and giving a bow before his equal, then left.
