Edges of capitol space.Southern West-West sector.
USM 7th legion zone #1 proximity Green line.
The Capitol would find, at the edge of their space, a zone once dotted with barren, lifeless rocks orbitting old stars, to be bristling with life. A fairly empty area, with little interest for harvest, there were very little explaination for the sudden increase in life found in that zone.
Not to mention, unexplicable psyonic and gravitational anomalies would be found throughout the area from the far outlook of the Capitol. Something was clearly moving, and "farming" those planets. A clear, noticeable, vectorial movement.
But the Capitol would have to come closer to see who, or what, had terraformed such a large zone, in a matter of months.
The 7th legion Atlantis citadel, now larger was currently orbitting a star, in an "optimal" zone to gather energy from the star, while being reasonably close to dead, life uncapable worlds, which were seeing heavy drone mining efforts.
There were a few ships around the citadel, but nothing noticeable beyond this.
Captain Quarren watched the sensor read outs coming in over the screens of the new Neptune class heavy cruiser, he raised an eyebrow at the sight of the massive construct orbiting the star, clearly something his people had never encountered before… and clearly outmatching his craft. This close to Capitol space meant this needed to be sorted. They couldn’t have some absolutely huge space station flying about the place not with the plans put in place, he returned to his command chair and addressed the crew.
“We will be conducting first contact operations, the Empress wants any new allies or neutrals we can get so act like we are respectable because we are” The crew nodded, not used to the fact that they were normally shouted into submission and then threatened by death by the commissar. Quarren opened a channel.
“This is Captain Quarrel of the Grand Empire of Capitol, you seem to be near our space and we are here to investigate, please identify yourself and come forward for potential talks between our people”
The space station... Or... At least, it's what it looked like, froze it's orbiting, twisting and turning, and raising smoothly to be on the same planar vectors of the capitol ship. This gigantic thing was no space station. It was a mobile structure.
A few long, quiet seconds occured, until finally, a reply was provided, as the 7th legion Atlantis citadel's joint conciousness responded.
There was only a sound transmission, with a black screen. The "voice" seemed to be that of manny people talking softly at once. The tone was calm, and patient.
"Greetings, and peaceful tiding to your people. We are the 7th legion. We are gardeners of worlds. Raisers of ecosystems and civilizations. We wish you no harm, and would be more than happy to meet your people. We appologies for any difficulties our presence may be causing your people."
The Capitol ship could... analyse the once barren world which was in the habbitable zone of this solar system. These were no lies. The planet sported a very basic, newly developped ecosystem.
The mining drones continued unhindered, an entire web of small ships.
Quarren raised an eyebrow, a genuinely peaceful race? Interesting however such activities close to the Capitol border could be seen as an intelligence gathering operation by the allies. He nodded.
“It is good you seek peace, so do we however being repressed doesn’t help our wish to become a recognised force in the galaxy. Tell me do you know of the Allies? As they call themselves, the Union, Tenebrae and the like?” He asked interested to see if these people had encountered them.
"Yes, we have encountered these people. And hope for our future interactions to be as positive."
The conciousness was becoming a bit more curious... But also cautious. They had heard rumors. But halcyons... Were a people to believe only what they experienced themselves.
The bridge crew could be seen getting visible worried or agitated Quarren knew it was probably both. The fact they had met those factions and had positive relations meant any data gathered here would be sent back and given to such, meaning the build ups in the secondary areas would be noticed. Quarren could not let that happen, despite the fact he was one ship he could be respectful about it at least.
“Are you scanning this region of space per chance while you are here?”
"We have already analysed through psychic probing most of this zone, hence how we know which zones bear dead worlds with the potential to bear life. Were we gathering inteligence, we would have already left. "
"You seem to be worried of something. Is there a problem?"
Quarren replied swiftly "My people are carrying out sensitive operations in this area, vital to the Capitol people, if the allies got wind of this operation then they would see it as a threat and attack or suspect us of warlike preperation. We just want to protect our own empire is all, perhaps it is best after this system is... terraformed by the looks of things you leave this region of space. We will not pursue or engage you and we will leave this system alone should you wish it"
"We shall consider it. And would only provide information of your people if you were to threaten the worlds we have colonised, or threatened the civilians of other nations. If you are peaceful however, you have nothing to fear from us."
"Neitherless, we shall redirect our terraforming vectors away from your zone."
Quarren nodded "I do apologise but these are very tense times for my people, especially on the galactic stage, we cannot allow anything to potentially jepodize our plans or wishes for such things to go ahead in the name of our people. Perhaps one day again soon we can talk things out but for now sensitive matters are a foot, i just hope for all our sakes they go the way we plan"
"So be it. Know, however, that if you were to cause any form of harm, directly or indirectly, to gardened worlds, or growing civilisations... And our future meetings may not be so peaceful. But for now, best wishes to you and your crew."
The mining ships, and assets, were gathering in the citadel, while what seemed like ice sheets were forming over the huge structure, odd gravitational anomalies occuring around the ship.
Quarren nodded “We wish you farewell and good prosperity” He said before cutting the link, and turning to the crew “We will sit at the edge of system and watch them until they leave, do not raise shields or charge weapons just make our way to the edge of the system slowly”
The 7th legions' forces, proceeded to warp out - a dimensional and gravitational anomaly occuring, as the citadel got covered into a sheet of white, reflective sheen. The structure thundered, as it vanished and distorted from sight.
“It seems they just left sir” One of the crew called out. “Indeed… alert command, hopefully they wont share anything but don’t count on it. Return to the patrol and lets hope the Empress dosent have us shot for this”
