Union home dimension: Aboard the Interceptor
The Emperor stood, out of armour and in casual clothes. It had been a very long few months. The tiredness on his face was visible and his glow was dimmed. It wasn’t from combat, but emotional and mental stress. As a being of such power even the most rudimentary emotions and feelings were experienced tenfold. The events that had happened… Had strained Myric. He didn’t know how to deal with them, and truth be told was scared to face them. Instead he had fought the Nakai on the frontlines, saving lives and taking his mind off it.
But here and now… He had to face what had been done. If he didn’t, it would not only tear him apart but the Union too.
“My lord do you wish to call the Empress?” The computers female machine voice asked. Myric nodded.
“Do it” The holo pad in front of him energised, surrounding him in blue light. In an instant the light was replaced with the surroundings of the Imperial Palace. He wished he could be there in person. He would be soon but he needed this done before he got there. In front of him stood his wife. Duneyer Empress of the Union, her radiant red hair flowing and down, but she too… Looked tired. He lustrous tone was gone and even though she looked stunning still he noticed she was somewhat unkempt. She too had been affected just as much as him.
“So you called in the end” She began, someone emotionless. Myric nodded.
“I am on the way back here now. I wanted to let you know” He said again somewhat monotone. The two stood there silently for what seemed like an eternity, both staring into each other’s eyes. Myric caught a flicker of light in the Empress eyes and knew exactly what was wrong. This women was his love, his life. He had forgiven her, and this would end now. She burst into tears and began to talk.
“I am so sorry! I love you and I can’t keep this up! I am so sorry for what I did but what’s done is done! I would go back a thousand times to redo what was done but I’m sorry! I just want to be yours again!” She screamed, she went to collapse on the floor crying but was stopped by an embrace.
Myric stepped forward and caught his wife, hugging her tightly he smiled “You know I forgive you, you will always be mine and I yours. I love you too” She pushed back slightly stunned and Myric smiled.
“You really think a few billion light years is going to stop me from being here? I will always be here for you, even if that does mean using some powers to do so” He grinned, she giggled and squeezed him tight.
“You bastard. You know I will always do the same” She managed. The two Angels stood there in an embrace. Terrible actions would be forgiven this day and the Union would be prepared for the time to come. The Unions heart had been healed. And it was time to strike back.
Ancerious Galaxy: Mirach Prime
“It seems we have been busy” Hargun smiled looking out of the window on the Transcendent Angel. The huge super dreadnought looking over the Mirach system and all its bustling glory.
“Indeed Admiral, the traffic and sheer volume of trade that comes through here almost hourly demands a lot of attention. It seems nearly all our allies are using the Quantum gate here and those all over the empire, we get all sorts coming through and our fleet can only do so much. At least it keeps the marines busy… better searching for illicit gear than training endlessly” Replied Fleet Captain Dewitt. Standing just behind the Admiral.
“We do have more pressing concerns than that of our trade routes” Sacule mentioned, the black haired Fleet Captain sitting on one of the chairs in Dewitts quarters.
“True, these reports of the fall of the DT are rather worrying… The fact Capitol has expanded nearly twice its size and seems to be developing and using new technology is very suspicious. Their new Empress seems to be not only competent but… trained. That and the recent attack by the Nucleans on the Eos Consortium… Well next time let’s hope they call in support… Our intelligence says they were annihilated” Replied Fleet Captain Volkus, his short brown hair and youngish face reading over a holopad with various reports. Hargun nodded.
“I agreed, the movements of Capitol are a serious concern, if they become too powerful they could easily threaten the galaxy. Let’s hope this new Ancerious Galactic Alliance conference allows us to come together to face that threat” Hargun turned to say to the assembled men and women. Dewitt laughed.
“Let’s hope someone doesn’t pull a gun” Dewitt retorted.
Hargun frowned “The factions attending will be thoroughly searched and scanned, security will be doubled. However this time we don’t have enemies attending”
“True. Let’s hope in the interests of peace those who come will choose to listen to reason. And to prevent such… Disastrous attacks” Sacule remarked looking at the intelligence from the Nuclean and Consortium battle, in fact the Great Eye system had been scouted by more factions than just the Union… While a Nighthawk class stealth cruiser had been sent for recon of the aftermath they had also spotted Capitol craft and a few others. Such big battles seem to travel quickly news wise…
“We should allocate some ships to help the Ecueme should they require assistance again” Volkus interjected. Hargun nodded.
“Put together a small force, we can’t send too much, I want our full forces ready to stop any Capitol incursion. Keep the forces we have in Tenebrae there, helping our ally defend from the Immortal Empire is still a top priority. As well keep a steady stream of reinforcements to Tau Volaris, we have reports of the ‘Red Angel’ there being some sort of cult leader… but for what we don’t know. I want intelligence working double time over the next few months. For our and our allies’ sake” Hargun said seriously.
“Well if Capitol does make a move… You can count on me and this old girl to put them in their place” Dewitt laughed, stroking the armoured wall of the Super dreadnought. Volkus responded soon after.
“What news of Par’Lan?” he asked.
“The A’Zores was last spotted heading into the Golden Expanse. Some sort of recon mission, requested by you admiral?” She turned to Hargun.
“Yes that’s right. I want to know if that probe pic cap of the Draken fleet was some dumb bastard playing tricks again… Par’Lan seems to have turned to our cause, and well… Any chance for revenge and he takes it” Hargun replied.
“How goes the battles at home?” Volkus asked “I know we see the reports but you are close to the Emperor Sir, you know the truth” Hargun sighed and turned back to the window.
“I won’t lie… Things don’t look fantastic, but I can tell you this. The Union is mobilising, and soon it will strike back. The Emperor is planning something big”
“That’s excellent news. Oh and Admiral one more thing…” Sacule smiled, though somewhat lost it towards the end.
“What is it?”
“Medical staff all over our space have reported an increased number of patients coming to them about… Nightmares. I mean I checked the data and the increase of these is over… 476% it’s quite concerning. Perhaps our allies are having something similar but I thought you should know” Sacule explained. Both Dewitt and Volkus looked at each other puzzled and Hargun turned around to face them again.
“That is strange… I will talk to our allies about it, perhaps our chief medical staff too. Notify me about that subject if it changes in anyway, I want reports on each of your areas on my desk space by tomorrow. Meeting adjourned” Hargun finished, they all nodded and Sacule and Volkus left the room.
“Nightmares… Capitol on the rise… Big storm coming I think” Dewitt looked to Hargun who merely acknowledged.
“Indeed Dewitt… We shall see, but by creation if there is we will be ready for it. Are the fortifications nearly complete?”
“Just about. If we are attacked we will be fully ready”
“Excellent, now excuse me I have a peace conference to host” Hargun straightened his uniform and made his way to the shuttle bay to transfer to the command orbital. The AGA meeting was about to begin.
