Dectrothians
Basic Overview:
Dectrothians are augmented humanoids, different stages of mild to heavy augmentation are common, from full cerebral augmentations to cybernetic limbs. While the majority of citizens have non-combat augmentations, like eye augmentations to see further away or skim through documents more clearly, an integrated cerebral processor and databank to store and keep data, or added muscle weaving to help carry heavier objects, there is a sweeping number of ex-military Dectrothians that continue to have their military-grade augmentations, working in industry or other hard labor positions.
Combat personnel have a requirement of further augmentation, like fully cybernetic limbs, vast improvements to sensory suites, and more depending on branch of service and battlefield injuries.
As a special note, children of the Dectrose are somewhat pure, with very limited augmentations or changes, so they would pass for a regular human under certain circumstances, still being slightly pale for their skin tone.
Extra abilities:
The ever-improving amount of newly developed or experimental cybernetics or augmentations mean that there likely is no set limit than what is currently available to the nation's technology level, and this is expected to rise and to continue developing.
Extreme Biological adaptations:
Cerebral augmentations help with an added processor and databank integrated into the brain to calculate and process things more clearly, and help instantaneous decision-making and action. Cloning Chips can easily be inserted into the cerebral lattice to maintain control over the military, and to ensure that lasting deaths are preventable. Body Augmentations to the chest and stomach area may include a skin lattice or medical fibers to close a wound faster or prevent excess bleeding, while dermal armor can prevent some smaller caliber weapons, sharp instruments and some shrapnel from doing harm to the body. Arm augmentations are quite varied, they can help to improve reaction time and weight lifting, direct combat upgrades like built-in weaponry, recoil dampeners or back-up CQC weaponry made from nanites though options for heavy bone weaving or for solid core bone material may be added for CQB purposes.
Leg augmentations can help the soldier jump higher, run faster or have more strength for weight lifting but they can also assist in negating most fall damage. Head augmentations may include materials resistant to Psionics, while RAVD nodes replace biological optics, so even if they are unarmored, they still have access to the Network via the cerebral augments, and display it in their optics, as well as other features. Their blood is fully synthetic, being white in color, while the nanites in their bloodstreams give their blood an overall grey tint, this explains their very pale appearance.
Redundant vital organs help to negate critical damage from disabling a Dectrothian, and may prevent their death. Lungs have built-in rebreathers, and are resistant against most gas and viral attacks. Twin synthetic hearts help to ensure survival if one or the other are critically damaged. Internal nanite canisters and exit ports allow a Dectrothian to harness nanites in an even greater ability, using them for defense, creation or attack.
Behavior:
While some soldiers may have emotional effects due to the augmentations, most have normal behavior, and while some have had mental breakdowns, it's no more then what a normal military would face. However, the current moral ambiguity of the Dectrothians mean that while some are more open to diplomacy and for peaceful attitudes, there also exist the very warmongering and violently aggressive parts of the populace, this is most easily seen when asking a particular individual their outlook on Xenos, as there exists a strong divide on Xenophilic and Xenophobic opinions.
Flaws:
Even though the Dectrose are researching into the field of Psionics and Telekinesis, the Dectrothians themselves cannot utilize the advancements personally, as they chose to augment their minds with cybernetics and implants rather then with Psionics. Therefore the Dectrothians cannot use Psionics or Telekinesis. They also suffer from a distinct lack of morality due to the rapid advancement of technology, and the morals of such technology not being able to effectively keep up. The Dectrose are a morally conflicted people, and they have opinions across the spectrum of evil and good, this can easily lead to divisions, internal arguing and civil war if left unchecked by the Dectrothian Government.
