Vulkan System: Triarch Space (Now Rangvald owned)
“And you are sure that this is a full comprehensive list of company assets?”
The droning monotonous voices of the board of directors, along with the Rangvald representatives went on and on. The entire room was packed with people, all seating to look inwards towards what was transpiring. There were stock holders, subsidiary company reps, mercenary leaders, rich investors and more all seated in their pompous or business attire, silently sitting, judging and observing what was transpiring.
In the centre of the room were two tables oppositely aligned, one was straight attended to by 5 individuals wearing Rangvald Cartel aligned branded clothing belonging to the companies Miyagatake, Yamanashi, Yamanakako, Hizen and Nishibashi. They were nothing special, just faceless bureaucrats who were sent here to hear everything that was to transpire, make a choice and oversee the transfer of Triarch Industries into Rangvalds shadowy embrace, which was what angered John the most. The people before him were nobodies, they moved slowly, had troubled reading with their glasses and spoke carefully and deliberately, he had hoped if his company was to die it would do so with more grace than this.
And yet here they were.
Sitting in a semi-circular table to the Rangvalds puppet representatives were the board of directors for Triarch Industries, along with John Triarch themselves. All with allotted seats, drinks and name plates, it reminded John of a trial, or a political inquiry. He was also angered by the fact that the men and women around him had backstabbed him, some of them had even worked with Sigfridson against John behind the scenes. He had managed to secure a variety of assets with the advanced warning his old traitor friend had given him but it had not been enough, when he had heard the vote had taken place it had finally hit him.
They had voted to accept Rangvalds takeover of Triarch Industries into their various companies after they had all agreed to liquidate. At least now John hoped that Rangvalds puppet companies would see Triarchs assets as a major investment and keep the company going, but with a major overhaul and renaming, with this at least he would be content. He popped another piece of flavoured gum into his mouth and began chewing as the old various representatives skimmed the asset list. He wondered if they were being deliberately slow, this had gone on for 2 days now.
“Yes, that is a full and comprehensive list. Obviously the black and behind the scenes projects and assets are not on that list, but on the encrypted piece attached to it, not for public eyes so to say” Linda Xan replied, she looked just as angry as John reinforced with her bright red hair, as main logistics director she had been one of the first to bring to Johns attention the first of the Unnamed influence, she had supported him but her vote had not been enough. The women had come from Kentucky and was one of Triarchs closest friends when he had gotten her a scholarship. Even after she had been expelled and gone on a self-destructive binge he had been there for her and given her a top paying job in Triarch. She hadn’t failed him since. There was a pause as the representatives continued to survey.
“Whether they are publically revealed or not is of no consequence, these assets are ours now.” The man spoke slowly as he licked his finger to turn an actual piece of paper to write down some notes.
“Yes… Of course” Linda replied, clearly biting back a remark.
“We notice that some of the assets listing in Triarchs naval force manifest along with some manufacturing facilities and offsite revenue dumps are not on this hand over, would the CEO care to explain why this is the case?” Another spoke, directed at John. Definitely a political inquiry panel he thought.
“Those assets have been bought by my own personal funds, and now belong to me solely, not the company and as such won’t be available to you in the handover” The reply was brief.
“I see. Our analysts will have to go back through the financial records to ensure that what you say is truly the case, and not just brought out by company influenced finds. If that is the case, those assets will be impounded and taken by us do you understand?” Triarch flinched. These men were enjoying themselves.
“Yes. But you won’t find anything indicating such, my own funds were used”
“Truly as you say Mr Triarch, but we have to consider every possibility. It isn’t every day that the largest mega-corporation in the galaxy goes bust, there are a lot of assets here, and all must be accounted for” The old man smiled behind his glasses, a horrible smile that made John sneer with a wish to punch him in the face. The company men then seemed to talk among themselves for a brief moment, one of them seeming to get a message. It angered Triarch that these men were not the directors of such puppet companies nor indeed the shadowy cartel lords of Rangvald itself, those individuals had chosen not to reveal themselves like men but to hide and rub this humiliation into Triarchs legacy through meaningless proxies.
“We have, after much deliberation, come to a decision on the takeover of Triarch Industries, its subsidiary companies and its assets. Our directors have given us their wishes and we will now relay them”
Triarch sighed, better to get it over with. It was almost done, as long as his legacy was taken over he could live with it trudging on. He laid back.
“We hereby declares the immediate liquidation and selling off of ALL Triarch assets, including military forces, territory, manufacturing assets, personnel, trade and logistics agreements as well as subsidiary companies effective immediately” The old men smiled. Triarch sat bolt upright, rage coursed through him as the room exploded into various uproar.
Some company reps and people shouted out against it, threatening the Rangvald front men. Others welcomed it, immediately shouting out their wishes to buy Triarch assets almost instantly, while others sat silent. Now unsure of their very futures. The board of directors was shocked too, many of them looking around to each other as if to seek solidarity in the moment. John however, glowed with rage. His entire life’s work, destroyed and torn apart by nobodies, by lesser men who built nothing. And they lorded it over him.
“Negotiations on assets will begin immediately. We are finished here, thank you all for your time, especially you… John Triarch” The men sniggered to themselves as they collected up their cases and papers, and left assorted company defence drones accompanying them. Already the Ancerious stock market exploded, Triarch territory and assets being bought off instantly, with huge bidding wars taking place between all sorts of companies and factions. As the board of directors and the various attendees began leaving the room, John Triarch sat thinking about the events that had led to this.
He had failed, both himself and his legacy. He had some assets yes, he would rebuild of course slowly and over many decades. But for now he let the rage be replaced with an empty sadness, he leant over the table and placed his hands upon his face and began to cry.
And Triarch Industries was torn apart around him.
(OOC Note: As of now Triarch Industries ceases to exist. Its military assets are being brought out by various neutral nations, its territories and manufacturing prowess is also being brought out by many lesser corporations and neutral empires. Any trade pacts or logistics deals made with Triarch Industries are now null and void as are any other pacts and must be renegotiated with the lesser companies. John Triarch has a small shipyard system and around 100 Triarch ships to his name, all under him that’s all that’s left but it is no longer Triarch Industries. If you wish to purchase some of the assets Triarch has contact me and we can possibly work something out. But for now, Triarch is no more)
