=== Void Rock six, Gorganos System ===
It was only the first week of the Office of Secret Services (OSS) being set up in this new galaxy and already they had been handed their first task. They were to covertly get system coordinates to a nation that seemed openly hostile on their first and only encounter the Vaanatis Supremacy. It wouldn’t be a small feat to get information across a galaxy was easy but to have full deniability on it wasn’t. The agents assigned one Ted Muller and Eliza Sally would need to get creative to complete their task. The came up with a several scenarios for various delivery methods using the Intel from WRL about them they knew they were able to detect objects accurately several AU from their territory. That would be the key to getting it to them they could leave it something big enough to be detected or something that generates enough of a signal. This was the start of their plan of attack for the situation they both sat brooding on it in front of a display with all the information they had on hand.
“It’s not going to work.” Muller said out loud disappointed
“What? Why not?” Sally replied back confused
“Biggest problem here is that it doesn’t matter what we send unless it isn’t ours they could eventually trace it back to us because there’s only one manufacturer of said item and they operate in the TDA.” So whatever we send needs to be either not our or so badly beaten up that it only be recognised as junk or it somehow got there as an accident…” that’s it Muller piped up with optimism before picking up a tablet and going through the ship manifest of void rock six on a tablet.
“So make it look like a deniable accident. Send some wreckage of a ship through but only a damaged enough navigation system that they can only retrieve one set of coordinates.”
“Precisely, we just need something that’s damaged enough and we can pay off a dock foreman to write it off and we’ll take it from there. Ah ha found one.” Muller said turning the tablet towards sally
“Rogue Arm Inc. small freighter peppered with micro meteorites when performing a docking manoeuvre. Initial reports say it’s reparable… I guess not.” Sally said picking up a communicator
They got any repair work to the ship halted and made their way to the dock yards where it was being held. The foreman took little convincing and gave the agents what they wanted. They had it dock sealed off and under guard at all times no one was getting in out without the OSS seeing it, they used regular station security to do this and put it the reason for its cordon down as an atmosphere leak. Now they needed to get the next part of their plan going and they were home free. They completely wiped the computers on board and only input the coordinates for Voi Con. With this done they had the ship towed from the Gorganos system to the Anderson system where the rest of the operation could be completed away from prying eyes, on paper of course it was a scheduled run to have it properly decommissioned at the Anderson systems ship yards. Once there they had the ship taken apart and removed any markings, serial numbers and the like off of everything and anything after that they had marine demolition specialists inspect the ship thoroughly for the structural weak points of the ship. They would cause a controlled detonation of the craft leaving it several pieces, making it so that the ship as a whole would be unrecognisable once it was done. With the ship split apart all the other pieces that weren’t the bridge section were destroyed completely in further controlled detonations. The bridge section had more detonation occur leaving only the navigational computer intact as well a few parts of the frame. Now with ship in a ravaged enough state they were confident that even if someone did a side by side comparison you wouldn’t be able to tell that the twisted wreck was part of that line of space freighters, to check this they tested it out and the computers were unable to match it.
It was the moment of the truth what everyone had been working tirelessly for over the past fortnight. The military jammed all communications in the Anderson system while the operation was happening, it would be announced as a systems failure due to human error. They opened a wormhole set to exit the ship roughly 4 AU outside of the Vaanatis borders if their Intel was right they’d detect the wormhole and go investigate with any luck and once they would easily find it. The last part of the plan was a lot hoping and luck which didn’t quite sit right with the Muller and Sally. After the ship and some of its wreckage went through they closed the wormhole and unjammed communications. Muller and Sally returned to the OSS office at the Gorganos System where the office was now fully staffed and ready to complete a whole range of tasks. As a reward for their efforts they were given the week off to recover from the assignment.

Admiral Kavaar was enjoying a moment of respite in one of the parks aboard the second fleet base. After their various recent encounters, she’d had little time to herself, and as she walked in this pleasant grassy expanse a few of worries faded away. Then she saw the messenger running down the path towards her.
“Sorry to disturb you Admiral.” He apologised immediately, bowing his head. “We’ve just had a wormhole open near the border, some kind of contact has exited.” He reported. She barely hid her distaste and being disturbed. “Have a patrol dispatched, if it appears to be any of our friends, destroy it.” She ordered, and the runner took off to deliver her orders.
With a muttered curse she headed to the CiC where it’s occupants were already busy coordinating the operation. “Admiral on deck!” the bark came, and they stood to attention before she waved a hand and they got back to work. “Who’s in command?” she questioned as she took a seat. “Captain Garis Halk ma’am” one of the crew told her. “Ah, the half breed. Interesting.” She smirked.
Aboard his battleship Captain Garis Halk readied his battlegroup to jump. Slightly larger than a standard patrol, it would be enough for the signature they’d detected. “Jumping now.” He spoke over comms and the group jumped, arriving at the coordinates. The sensors operator turned “Some kind of wrecked ship sir, orders?” she asked.
“Launch fighters, I want to see this close up” he responded as he rubbed his chin thoughtfully, a trait he’d picked up from his father. A few wings were fired from their bays and sped in to take a closer look. “Some sort of freighter, or it was anyway, nothing I recognise.” The wing leader reported as the bridge crew watched his live feed, the fighters manoeuvring around the wreck. “Looks like there’s a couple of lights still on, faint signature from one of the sections.”
Halk paused for a moment. How strange, he thought, that an unknown vessel would end up here of all places. “Pull back for now, I’m sending marines to board.” He decided, and the fighters backed off as a shuttle load of marines made its way across the void. The shuttle latched on to the side of the vessel and the squad disembarked for EVA, boots magnetising to the hull as they proceeded towards the signal.
Everyone waited and watched the live feed as the marines made their way slowly through the wreck until they reached the source, the navigation console. “Plugging in now, let’s have a look…” one of the marines muttered as he tried to make sense of the system. “Nav coordinates, only one set. That’s it, console died when I pulled them.” He reported as the marines returned to their shuttle and then the vessel.
Kavaar listened to all of this with annoyed interest, whilst it was a nice change of pace to constant territory violation it had still interrupted her down time. “Bring the data back captain, we’ll see what we can learn.” She ordered before severing the comms link.
Within the hour the patrol had returned, and techies were going over the data, making sense of it. There was a knock on the door of Kavaar’s quarters. “Enter.” She spoke as she finished dressing. Halk entered and stood to attention. “At ease.” She spoke and looked at the half breed. “Well?” she questioned. “They are indeed Nav coordinates Admiral.” He spoke, the hint of a smile on his face. “They give details of Voi Con. In Davian Territory.” He told her.
It was Kavaar’s turn to smile, a cold, cruel smile. “You have done well Captain, very well indeed.” She spoke as she took the datapad he offered and looked at the details. “Return to your post, dismissed.” She told him. Halk saluted and left as the Admiral looked over the details with a smirk. This was fortuitous indeed.
